get ready your IC copies  - front & back in A4 paper size
least 3 sets - if you intend to open All Account - ASW , ASM & AS1M

staff there will be more helpful if you have copies of IC ready for them ,
and minimum RM100-00 each . and your HP of course

I'm getting mix info on this issues..

What I know its min 100 units to open up new account.. But one fellow forummer managed to get zero balance account few months back... Later just top up at myasnb portal only..

So I'm guessing in case on case basis.. Meaning depending on staff & branch policies 😊

I am 25 this year. Only got ASW now and is less than MYR 1k in the account So far, I have not YOLO well.. got
YOLO a bit lah but not excessive haha.

Maybe due to my puny salary, I am having hard time trying to get extra to throw in to ASNB. I am surprised to see many people here able to throw in until 6 figures. Like the post above, 29 years old only but got 6 figures in ASBN yet he was YOLO-ing when he was 23-25 (my current age) .

Sometime I wonder how can I increase my income to achieve such extraordinary figure. For me 6 figures of saving is extraordinary.. hopefully sifu-sifu can provide some insight for me.

This 1 is the one government announced in budget 20178 for indians only?

let me tell u the "real situation" out there.. ignore those in lowyat...

many depends on ASB dividend yearly to pay school expenses / monthly expenses.. it's like "high return Savings account".... just camp 1 day at any of the agents branch.. see how many holding "blue passbook" & red withdrawal slip (before MyASNB portal time). Now also same, but u don't see blue passbook.. situation would be the same only.. won't change overnight like magic..

and seriously I said to the face.. MANY HAVE NOT MAX OUT 200K.. NOT EVERYONE HAVE THE $$.. See the yearly ASB annual report.. how many unitholders below 5k balance..  that's the fact..

simple psychology of majority 'investor'...when see 6.25% dividend announcement...straight dump money there or keep money there..thinking ASx work like FD..

Some people don’t study properly before investing their money...every investment has its own pros and cons..

FD  - we know exactly what would be the return before hand..only OPR change by BNM could change rate.

ASx - dividend declared today is past one year’s investment..we are investing on certain expected return..general expectation for ASx non-bumi fixed-price is
above 6%..

So, some people investing in ASx thinking today’s declared dividend would be guaranteed return for next one year..

@elea88..yes same strategy i use...i normally top up fund which is near to dividend date
