Online portal of PNB or through banks? The last i asked Maybank they told me only ASB can be purchased online while the others we have to ask over the counter.

Hi, i'm planning to remove my money from ASG Pendidikan because the returns were quite bad last year.
What do you think if i move it to AS1M? Can this be done at Maybank branches? Also, i want to check if this is true, if the fixed price funds are full, we are not allowed to open an account? |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Apr 29 2017, 05:38 PM) Yes. Can I did it before. Yea, you are correct, i should calculate with that formula. No it's not. Official answer yes. Unofficially can still topup if got people sell. Do not look at distribution for variable price fund. Distribution in ut does not paint an accurate pic of return. They give you 7sen dividend/distribution does not mean that your the fund give you 7% retuens How to know? Here's the crude way. ((Final price x no. of unit) - (buying price after 5.5% service charge x no. of unit)) x number of days/365 x 100% Of course if you use excel, will give you a more accurate pic. How I know? ASG gave me 7sen dividend/distribution but in reality I suffer ~ -15% loss after using that formula above to calculate. Those were days buy ASG at it's peak and malaysia market kena sell off few months later. Of course some fund give like 1sen dividend and real returns in % are great. You look at % of returns in UT not sen. Sen only for shares/fixed price fund. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Apr 29 2017, 08:27 PM) Yes. Can move to as1m depending on units availability.. Great, thanks for the tip Recommended to do on Oct 2 as its ex dividend date.. Sure units available because most of us top up that time only... second question.. It's depending on units availability.. Better to open in asnb branch.. Recommended to open on ex dividend date too.. |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Jan 14 2018, 12:45 PM) Thanks!QUOTE(nexona88 @ Jan 14 2018, 04:40 PM) Lulz.. Haha, you are correct, i don't know why i used the word "removing". May be i was angry with it's slow growth Its not "removing" but name as withdrawal 😅 Can be done at agents & asnb too.. Whichever is near for u 🙏 Thanks! QUOTE(3clicks @ Jan 14 2018, 08:58 PM) If i remember correctly, the 5% has already been deducted when i've purchased the units. There should not be any more when i withdraw next. |

QUOTE(yvonne2016 @ Jan 14 2018, 10:01 PM) Better calculate your gain again before You redeem your ASG units, Maybe you can wait longer, till end of March, for declaration of ASG dividend ,2 more months to go,... QUOTE(Ramjade @ Jan 14 2018, 10:07 PM) ASG dividends is useless It's exit right pocket, enter right pocket. Good insight Ramjede, i never looked at it that way. Initially i was waiting till end of March like yvonne2016 mentioned. When the a UT gives dividend, the amount of unit increases = the price of the unit price drops hence canceling both out. Hence they have no consequences. Don't get fool by them and agents always advertising high 7% "divisends". These goes for normal unit trust like public mutual. silverwave sell now while bursa is on bull run. QUOTE(nexona88 @ Jan 14 2018, 10:11 PM) Mind asking how long u invest?? Close to 3 years i think, when i entered it was Rm1.0123 and then it kept dropping till Rm0.94. It was a loss and the 5.5% sales charge took a big chunk from the principal sum. I didn't look at it for some time.Your NAV entry pricing... It lower or higher then current NAV... Check that all before u withdraw.. If not u make " loss" 😢 Then someone would come in and says.. Better dump in FD.. At least can get 3% 😎 Just checked now, it's at Rm1.0445. Im planning to take the money and put it in AS1M. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Jan 16 2018, 09:35 AM) Hmm.. I think u should be in positive position.. Yea exactly.Because when NAV below rm1, u should be getting more units.. Now total with higher NAV.. Profit 💪 AS1M huh? Good choice for starters.. Kinda easy.. Still its depending on staff want to open new account for u or not 😢 I've opened the AS1M 1 year ago after so many tries, same situation like you've mentioned in the few posts above. I'm thinking of opening ASW2020 also to diversify. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Jan 16 2018, 11:24 AM) Just to reminder.. ASW2020 is "hot" fund.. Everyone want piece of it... So chance of getting some units is slim.. But u never know your luck would be.... Haha, exactly, i went to Maybank today and the officer said the fund is not open yet for enrollment for non bumi. She tried to sell ASG to me and i said i already have it and i'm not interested. Why I said hot fund.. Because it is the oldest fund among the 3 FP funds open to non bumi... Basically every households have 1 account... Just like my extended family.. Every single person have ASW, but not all have ASM & AS1M 🙏 She also said i can't open the fund if there are no available units. I will try at other banks also. |
