My normal insider contact shared with me that all staffs received an email to update their customer info including mobile number via their intranet site. One of the features sighted for use of the updated info is electronic statements and "portal".

Heard that it'll be available for staff by the end of the month but no indication yet if it'll be officially launched to the public.

I'll share more info once received  icon_rolleyes.gif

just a thought, will there be mass pulling out of asx if it goes below 5.8% ? going down trend every year
*
QUOTE(nexona88 @ Feb 14 2017, 10:06 PM)
Hmm hard to say..
Those who invest are comparing with FD which is much lower..
And most won't take risk to invest in others type of assets..

Those risk takers already cabut last year... Went to FSM or foreign assets investments etc.

So I would say it's 50/50 chance..
*
I'm quite confident there will be no mass pulling out. Our Malaysian investing public is not so savvy,... at 5.8%,.. this is still good,... nothing to worry. Come to think of it, even at 5% also,.. there will be no mass withdrawals.

I'm serious, bro,... I believed if there is one thing we need not worry abt investing with PNB is the risk of mass withdrawals. Even if there are big withdrawals, PNB will 'eat' the units.

QUOTE(sandkoh @ Feb 15 2017, 06:04 PM)
5.5% still much better than fd leh.
*
For any FD above 5%, there will be limitations, eg minimum period, age limits, for a certain period only, etc, etc,... but for PNB funds no rules, no limitations, nothing,... just put and enjoy the yearly 'interests'. Can take out whenever one wishes to, and still get to enjoy the prorated dividend to be earned at the end of the financial year. Where can get such benefits ?

I think many know this,... so,... I still rest my confidence on PNB Fixed Priced Funds if an investor wanted an easy life and does not mind currency value depreciation.

Edited by adding further good qualities of the PNB FP Funds.

Your statement really made people feel like need to pump in more into ASX FP. I have put in some allocation late last year. Now did consider to increase the % in there.  biggrin.gif
*
If you're a very passive investors, ie no time to learn and research, then yes - ASX is the way to go than leaving yr Ringgit lying ard and earning nothing or very low returns ! But,... you will pay the price for a weakening currency and loss of purchasing strength,...

I park my Ringgit in PNB FP funds, while awaiting opportunities to convert out !

guys, is there such plan where u borrow 50k for asb (small amount only permitted)

then u dont need to pay anything back to bank. just borrow, and enjoy.

any new package? someone claimed got, but i havent ask further.
*
QUOTE(Ramjade @ Feb 16 2017, 12:52 PM)
Yes.  But all loans need to pay back. Find RHB/Maybank/cimb for more info.
*
If you are with a strong political party,... I think it's possible,... and this is also if the news is not leaked out to the public, and the loan officer will join hands with you ! I know of some national coalition party members managed to escape with some amounts.

But,... you better have the backing of the political party.

Not even 100 available today.

I thought people mass withdrawals to convert foreign currency?
*
Not really,.. perhaps some who have participated in this thread, and in some other related threads may have done so,... but DEFINITELY not the majority of the PNB investor population. There are many investors out there who are still not aware...and hence, still fighting hard for units.

We shall see whether they dare to go beyond 6%. Even if goes below 6% my parents will not let me withdraw any out. sad.gif

One thing that PNB has which EPF does not have is the capability to perform profit-smoothing, ie can save-up profits during profitable years to be given out during non-profitable years. ..hence, let's see if we can get to enjoy this profit-smoothing advantage next month in the ASM payout.

Tks,... biggrin.gif ,... I'm happy to know that there are ready buyers when I wish to let go,... Many a times, I need to go through some hassles when I needed to sell, and I seldom sell my investments,... I've always been a long term holder.

A recent example would be my disposal of a Singapore ctr : Singpost. Hard to decide on the selling price.

Glad that things are a lot easier with PNB Funds. biggrin.gif thumbsup.gif

QUOTE(Mr Gray @ Feb 23 2017, 11:22 PM)
Hansel, I think you're spreading a rumour with zero basis. Please refrain from doing so. Should this be true, I would've  known it earlier than you.

All ASB loans are done with banks like Maybank, CIMB etc. It's completely unthinkable how those with close ties to BN could do what you have implied.

Our banks are governed by strict regulations, at the purview of Bank Negara. We are not lawless. You may not like BN, but all accusations must be based on facts. Not hearsays or rumours. Let us all be responsible citizens.
*
Well.... let it be 'rumours' then. If I am to say everything based on facts, then we would not be talking abt all these, the problems we are in today, and the prbs that this ctry is going through.

Sure, banks are governed by strict regulations, but funds are transferred out in big amts and the people who processed the transactions inside the banks are only fined. And the latest is billions of RM are lost back in the nineties, and the PM's Office is going to start a probe now. Sure, governed by strict regulations,...

If things failed too many times, then everybody starts thinking and talking abt 'rumours'.

Some rumours are facts that can't be proven, or that must not be proven, for justice brings more damage to the general public than no justice. Generally justice should bring more good to the general public, BUT NOT some 'rumours'.

I did not say BN, please do not imply when I said the national coalition, I meant BN. Be responsible in words that you choose to use.

And who accused BN ? You did. I did not. You said I said BN. I did not say BN. smile.gif

And why did you touch on ASB ? I merely talked abt 'rumours' on loans. Nothing to do with ASB. It doesn't mean a thread on PNB funds needs to have all discussions inside here related to PNB funds.

And no, not many people know of many 'rumours', not even for someone who works inside PNB.

Nexona is right ! I'd be selling everytime I see a chance to convert out. But if there is no chance to convert out, ie waiting for good forex rates, other liquid funds available to send out first.. etc,... then I'll leave the funds inside PNB.

But yeah,... no choice-lar,.. to me, the RM is not worth investing into anymore, earning the RM from normal daily work is okay, but consciously investing and making more RM is not the right way to go today,... for me-lar,..

Added : I guessed it's win-win-lar,.. I'm happy to leave, and others are happy to buy more,... this is mkt ! If everybody is happy to leave, then it won't work for me anymore.

Sifu,

You are my idol and I m tailgating you closely. From nothing in Dec 2016 to have quite a big sum in Sg reits, I think this is a great achievement. I m not smart but I m willing to learn and do some simple research. Hope to bear more fruits in future.

Bro,.. I am flattered,.. I'll try to help out wherever and whenever possible,.. can earn better karma,... smile.gif

Speaking with a few estate negotiators these few days, concluded that many properties in Klang Valley are declining their values, which included some properties from the conventional demanding areas.

Yesterday, an agent sent me a list, 11 new units kicked out from booking because of loan rejection.

It is now the buyer time, especially for those with rich cash in hand.

Buying properties, maybe, an alternate of convert out, to secure weak RM.

I'm thinking of that.
*
hmm.gif .....

Even if you make a lot of RM from the capital appreciation of your investment property(ies), what's the point if the value of yr RM made continues to drop ? - Get more RM,... then amt of goods and services that can be bought from that RM made reduces as time goes by,...

Not sure if anyone discuss it yet. Just in case no one did, the ASB's annual report is out
http://www.asnb.com.my/v3_/pdf/produk/ASB/2016_AR-ASB.pdf

Few things I noticed:
- This year income is more than 2015 but they pay less dividend because they did not use previous year profits to pay out as dividend (whether because no more extra profit or they didn't want to, I wouldn't be able to tell)
- This year no impairment on investments recognised

Always appreciated yr valuable analysis,....tq. thumbsup.gif
