The sign of non-performing stock/fund is when they start paying dividend from reserve...

let say original fund size is 100M
to pay 6% dividend, they should earn at least 6M..
if they only earned only 3M but pay-out 6M...then real fund size will be 100M+3M-6M = 97M

if this happen continuously every year...then u know the answer...the affect will compounding and one day they have to start pay dividend exactly what they earn...if they earned 4%, then they pay 4% only...that what i should mean 'burst' not 'boom' (sorry for that confusion)...where you will start getting 'actual' dividend (in stock term DPS =< EPS) rather than current 'unreal' dividend (DPS > EPS)

the good historical example for above scenario, please refer few Bursa stocks eg. BAT or MEDIA

i'm not discouraging people from by ASNB, but please know the fundamental of investing whenever u investing...so u know exactly what u r doing....
