Now that I think back..
I think pnb was thinking the cost to change all the ASB passbook if they were still to use passbook..
Must be multi millions... Unlike others ASx funds...

So easy way, no passbook icon_idea.gif

And yeah, I think got print slip.. Just that we need to be extra careful.. Don't lost the slip...
*
Yea , PNB is very big in Malaysia with many investors, millions!

It costs them a lot of money to print the books. cut costs and pass more money to us drool.gif drool.gif

Yes. That's the best time to open account/topup.

Alternatively, just park in Affin Hwang Select Bond fund give 6-7%. Buy from FSM MY kena charge 0.2% service charge a year (it will increase over time as the fund will make money) or buy from Phillip MY (eunittrust.com.my) when there's a promo and pay no service charge/platform fees.

There's no need die die tp put amanah saham.
*
wow , looking through the website, some of the funds have very good annualized return.

How does it work actually? is it a legit platform ? and any sales/purchase/annual fee?

Of course. It's perfectly legit. Many of us here have account with them and park some money with them too.Rather than buying from banks/agents which will charge you 5.5% service charge, FSM charges 1.75% one time charge for equities and 0.2%p.a for bond fund.

eUT charges 2% for equities fund and 1% for bond funds. When there's promo, you can buy at 0% service charge.

How it works?
Instead of using agents who "supposely handle everything for you", you yourself make the decision what to buy and when to buy. Of course you can ask customer service for help at zero cost.
*
So if I buy bond fund from FSM, I will be charged 0.2% pa service charge? Any buy and sell charges?

Actually they charge you 0.05% of your bond value per quarter. Since there's 4 quarters in a year, you will be charged 4x a year. The amount you pay will increase gradually as your value increases (even if you didn't topup)
*
no charge for selling/ buying ?

one question - are these funds liquid? If a person decides to sell it at certain NAV, does he always get the NAV the wants, or he has to queue like in stock market for the match of seller-buyer?

Have you seen the new notice up on the portal's landing page? Looks like they've already have a plan/date for the official/public launch. Better hurry up and pick up those FP units before the whole world knows about it  brows.gif

Dude, SAY IS EASY.

To do is hard.

My brother in law work there for almost 18 years only can get PR. That also 2nd time application.

Nowadays AU also keep rejecting already because overflux if MY HK and CN people going there in the past 10 years. Props have been bought by PR and local is eating dust. The rule now is so so strict compared to previous year.

Unless your job is really top priority in AU, they may consider. Or else just forget it.

Migrating is an option but not a necessity YET. What we have to do now is grab the last hope to improve our nation and at the same time building strong financial foundation on your own.

Grass is always greener on the other side.

All my relative that get PR no matter which country, racial discrimination toward Asian IS ALWAYS THERE. You will get bully, looked at one kind, you name it they have it. But ofc, its just minority, still, as the time going, life isn't as good as in MY. Provided in MY you got yourself a decent job, then youre good to go.
*
I agree with you.

one word - white privilege. The perceived privileges of being born a white or european descendant.

Life is good in the western country IF you are born a white. This is the hard truth.

My friend who is a doctor worked in Canada few years ago, and he told me that Asians are considered the lowest in the social hierarchy.

Well,.... then we will sit and wait for China to take over the world,... then Chinese will stand tall in the world,...  biggrin.gif

I think your doctor friend has a personal prejudice problem towards the Chinese,... I have Canadian friends too, angmohs who are always looking for Chinese investors, Chinese friends, Chinese this and Chinese that,... Chinese girlfriends,...

Sometimes, I think perceived privileges and prejudices are individual-centric,... not truly a national phenomenon. The closest national phenomenon of racial privilege and prejudice exist in Malaysia whereby we can see everyday occurrences of the bumiputra privilege (hak istimewa) which is imbedded in the constitution. Therefore, cannot be changed,...

I guess different person perceives racism in different level and in different way.

I won't hold my breath for withdrawal tho. I think it's unlikely they will allow online withdrawal because ppl will start to really treat them like bank accounts instead of UT. even now with the hassle of going to branch/agents there are already a lot of withdrawals (can see by how easy ppl here get units sometimes haha).

on a side note, what I find funny is, ppl complaint A LOT about having to go to branch to update info (HP no), get new acc no (for ASB only) to register myasnb, when all this time they don't seem to face trouble when need to go there again and again for withdrawals/adding funds.

not a good idea for online withdrawal. Need to take into security risk, especially for older generation who are not tech savvy. Risk of account being hacked, money transferred to other bank is there.

Older people are always the victims of scam. PNB needs to protect this group of people.

The returns have to be significantly higher than FD. (1 year or 3 year rate)
