Having said that, you need to present yourself to the bank counter to get some details updated before they provide you with a NEW account number.

Ytd i purposely take half day leave, went to Affin Bank near my house to open ASX account.

The staff "opened" a "general" ASX account for me.
However when the staff trying to open either 3 of the non-bumi fixed price fund for me, it was all out of units, even after several trials.

The staff asked me to come again to try my luck when I am free.

So now I opened a "general" ASX account, but do not have any specific fund (e.g ASM, ASW, AS1M) under it?
Feeling meh ..... didn't know it works that way.

If like this, can i go Maybank near my office to try to open the specific fund?
Or i am forced to go back to that Affin Bank branch only?
Forgot to ask the staff, feeling blurred at that time cuz didn't know it works that way.

Remark: The Affin Bank's staff didn't provide me any document at all even i already opened a "general" ASX account.

1. I think the staff went and open for you ASG. There's no such thing as general ASX account. Ask them what account is it?
2. You can go to any agent branch however as people said,
- ASNB and affin is a better place to open
- This time make you sure you are specific. Tell them you only want (ASW, ASM, AS1M account)

ASG u means Gemilang? I am sure that is not the case.

The staff did asked me which account i want.
and i specifically said ASW, ASM, AS1M.

Because by default staff will open ASG/ASN3 for you. They will never open ASw, ASM, AS1M unless you ask for it. There's no such thing as general account. THe only thing same across all account is the same account no.

Looks like you didn't get your account after all (you can always check with the agents/asnb what account do you have)

if they tell you no units available, there is nothing you can do

since maybank is near to you, just go everyday. Now i believe only ASM has better chance.

ASW announcing interest for 2017 on 31/8

AS1M on 30/9.

Visit after these dates, i guess better chance to secure these 2

Last time yeah. Tak dapat buka account, the account they tried with zero unit will be closed automatically. Don't know whether it's the same or not with with today's new system.

Hmmm ... i think that is the case.
after the staff failed to secure any units for me, i heard she said words "zero units" to her colleague.
So I think my account was closed automatically.
If not, no matter what i shud at least get a document from her.

I will try other agents near my office, so i can try more often during lunch time, no need purposely take leave.

Just give IC to the agents bank..
Ask them check u already have account or not...

Since nowadays its 1 account number for all, I'm guessing there's this so called general account.. After open, just add whichsoever fund available on the profile...
