ASM is the benchmark for ZETI too. I am very very looking forward to this as ASM is my major portion.

QUOTE(ultraman29 @ Sep 3 2018, 08:27 AM) thanks for your reply. this makes a lot more sense  today is the day. which then comes to my next point why u guys like to hunt early in the month? effectively u will burn all the possible “interest” as the money will not generate any income until the next month? no care interest. if you chase interest, you won't ever get the number you wish |

guys. looks like I was wrong..... sorry to give you guys bubbles and broke it.....
since this is UT... I calculated it annualized return for 10 years this afternoon and like you guys la.... so happy with the 8.33..... then go out ad... after comeback only realized..... it took 12 yrs to double your initial investment amount. provided you don't touch. the amount of 10 years if you break it up to anually, it's actually 8.33 pa. meaning the extra 2.33% is the interest you made across the 10 years horizon. does that mean 8.3 pa? it's a yes to me. but I may be not technically correct to others... |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Sep 6 2018, 02:50 PM) Shouldn't quote as 8%pa 12 years as it can lead to misunderstanding as the real figure is 6% PA. this.... Should be saying CAGR (compound annual growth rate) 6% of 12 years, and lead to 96% of total gain in 12 years. 8% is a simple average rate by divided 96/12, which result average 8% pa. which is not picturing the actual situation. When talking about compounding effect, you use CAGR to quote which is a more accurate situation. Similar to FD, no one will say their is 5% in 10 years (despite currently at the rate of 4%) as current FD was compounding from 10 years back. but this is very technically region. |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Sep 6 2018, 03:15 PM) Don't need to obsess the technical term or whatever term. yes hahaha. Just know 6% pa if compounded for 12 years it is not 72%, but should be 96% total return. Instead saying 6% compounded for 12 years at CAGR 6%, , it is better to show 96%. 6% CAGR 12 years vs 96% gain, which one show more "powerful" for general public? it is the latter one. Figure always can be "played" around to make the number looks good/bad, but it cannot run away the actual situation, or what you actually make. but when proposed to gen public. they will listen to CAGR at 96% or 8.33 pa? CAGR to them is sky rocket. (I try before to my relative). when I tell both with putting CAGR at front. they only ask about 8.33. lol!!!! even pnb stuff also comment on rule of 72... haha. boss, so this if want calculate "annualised" return, how ah? is it we divided the total return? |
