QUOTE(Ramjade @ Apr 18 2017, 10:49 AM) Of course it's better. Well it's fair what. During good times, you get 10-20% return and during bad times you get (-) returns. Amanah saham also fair what. Good or bad time you receive same amount. Of course it's better. Well it's fair what. During good times, you get 10-20% return and during bad times you get (-) returns. Amanah saham also fair what. QUOTE(tensixteen @ Apr 18 2017, 12:48 PM) I have both ASX and UT. For the past couple of weeks, I've been lucky using the portal to top up my ASX. I could use my available funds for UT but as I am a newbie in DIY UT, I am taking the more cautious approach of only allocating a smaller amount of funds into UT. hmm i think that is a good strategy start with mutual fund for me since i am just a newbie.. last time i just save and put all in asb product but now with inflation rate and the ever increasing cost of living and the decline of dividend i need to find ways to optimize my returns. thinking of doing small part time business oso...I guess once you are more confident in UT investing, eg better at gathering and reading market info, then you can always invest more aggressively. JMHO, you can always start with bond funds / fixed income instead of jumping into higher risk equities to begin with. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Apr 29 2017, 08:27 PM) Yes. Can move to as1m depending on units availability.. However pls be aware of the rm 50k unit per day transactionRecommended to do on Oct 2 as its ex dividend date.. Sure units available because most of us top up that time only... second question.. It's depending on units availability.. Better to open in asnb branch.. Recommended to open on ex dividend date too.. |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Jul 12 2017, 09:11 PM) Let's give a scenario i agree migrating is still not a necessity yet.5 years ago, Earning RM9500, monthly essential expenses need RM1000 Now, Earning RM10000, monthly essential expenses RM2000. (same item) That's what we are facing now. Even with increment in salary, higher cost due to depreciation of RM. Our earning power drop. One do not need migrate. Just earning powerful foreign currency is enough to cushion the blow. USD/EUR/AUD/GBP/CAD/SGD ke semua boleh use. Have your pick. Cannot depend on amanah saham now. Last time can. i agree with ramjade that is why i am trying to diversify. thinking of taking out rm 50k to invest outside amanah.. but now exploring other option.. starting to dabble a bit in bursa or maybe set up a small business.. currently after minus house and car i am left with rm 2k .. up till last year my income from consultancy was able to sustain me even save in my asx's but now after gst..etcc.. and etc.. consultancy job is scarce and i decided i cannot rely on it anymore.. hopefully can get some ideas here to generate of earn good passive or active income... when the going gets tough.. you have to get tough and get going hehehe This post has been edited by lowyatjoe: Jul 13 2017, 11:42 AM |

QUOTE(kpfun @ Jul 14 2017, 09:21 AM) Absolutely, saving for next generation is a most stupid human behaviour. Whereas, saving for living later is a wise thing to do. i am in mid 30's any good advice on saving..the do's and the dont'sSaving is a very big and complicated subject. Those who understand well the saving, definitely, taking advantage of it in their life. Otherwise, the life could be very miserable. I'm early 50 and enjoying a good life now from my past saving. Money are like dropping from the sky consistently everyday, and yet, I don't have to work. Saving at the age of 25+ is VERY DIFFERENT than 45+. The power of saving is coming from there. with the rise in the cost of living saving is a challenge... |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Jul 13 2017, 10:59 PM) Of course. My total return is roughly 12% (after plus up all my funds). Some of my funds making 17%+. Even fund whose mandate invest in Malaysia only is giving me 12-13% return. All this less than a year investing. Started somewhere ine Sept last year. That's just using FSM MY. ok i should read up on this.. with mgmt fee trustee fee and nav wah quite a lot to read up onIf we compare using SG UT, we can get higher returns than what we get in Malaysia (better funds availability) |
