I'm a real time driver. This is base on experience. Current situation:
Grab - earns you more definitely. Uber - driving for charity.
Here is an example: Mr Awesome is a fat boy. He wanted to go to 7-11 to buy maggie to eat. He order Uber, ask the driver to come pick him up at the condo, Block C. When the driver reach below, and call him, then only he get down. The 7-11 is actually only 200 meter away. Fare is RM1.20. He paid RM2 and tell the driver keep the change. He is happy.
Mr Ahmad is the driver. When he received the ping, he was 5km away. He need to drive all the way and register to enter the condo and get RM2 (with tips some more) only in the end. And need to deduct 25% Uber fees.
So you tell me. In your opinion, Mr Ahmad is actually earning or doing charity?

QUOTE(jesseclane @ Jan 26 2017, 02:34 PM) Grab can choose your passenger. Which mean some passenger request (eg from LRT to home ~ 2km), you can either accept or reject. Uber, only when you pickup your passenger, Uber will reveal passenger destination. Correct me if I'm wrong. Btw Uber driver told me that, short & mid range take uber, mid and long range take grab. Not really. Uber and Grab all sort of range. I'm also a rider. Short range I will use Grab. Because I do not want to 'cheat' the driver. only willing driver will accept. Long range I will use Uber because generally it is cheaper fare.

QUOTE(krupa @ Jan 28 2017, 01:39 AM) May I ask what's the average perhour can you make? Above RM40+ per hour (before minus Grab commission). If after deducting 20% Grab money, it is RM30+ per hour.

Grab is definitely better for part timer and also full timer. Unless you are airport trip chaser, then you will probably need both Grab and Uber to sustain. If not just Grab is enough.
