HELP! My hidden file..., can't be shown anymore

whenever i tick shown hidden files and folders under the folder option, after i press ok or apply, it will defaultly back to not shown hidden file... again..automatically...sob
its seem like a virus doesn't want to reveal itself..but my AVG av can't detect it, same goes to Avast & Bit defender av. now i really can't see my 'private' hidden file anymore  help me..  This post has been edited by suicideroach: Feb 26 2007, 11:55 AM |

well just go to the folder and then uncheck the hiden option

your system is infected by malware.
i had this problem a few weeks ago, it blocks up the registry editor and msconfig. this malware will also try to prevent you to check all the hidden files. do you understand chinese? give this a try http://www.cf91.com/downinfo/3404.html it's 熊猫烧香 virus removal tool goodluck |

make sure you have admin rights
start->run->cmd change to the directory the hidden folder is in attrib (folder name) -S -H -R **Note: ATTRIB [+R | -R] [+A | -A ] [+S | -S] [+H | -H] [drive:][path][filename] [/S [/D]] + Sets an attribute. - Clears an attribute. R Read-only file attribute. A Archive file attribute. S System file attribute. H Hidden file attribute. [drive:][path][filename] Specifies a file or files for attrib to process. /S Processes matching files in the current folder and all subfolders. /D Processes folders as well. one more simple step...make new guest account...enable the hidden folder option from new guset account..if u can get this..change your new guest account into admin account..then u get back all privacy to control all option..delete old admin account....a had done this ,nothing effect to new account...make sure u got strong Nt Virus before go down to black lane..XXX lane i meant..there always spyware,adware make d roadblock over there.
