Recently I got two job offers , one of them from kl , another one from penang. For Penang , the salary was roughly 2.5k per month whereas for kl , the salary would be 3k per month . In terms of living cost , which one can afford more comfortable life ?

Instead of thinking short term , you should be thinking which state will give you better career growth. That is more important.

like one of the previous post mentioned, you need to look at longer term. Based on your salary, I assume you are fresh grad, and depending on which industry you're in, certain industry like engineering and BPO have bright future in Penang, while others like sales, marketing...will have better career path in KL. If you just want a comfortable life and not ambitious to grow your career, then Penang will be better for you as RM500 is hardly enough to cover the additional cost of living in KL (tolls, parkings,...etc), however, bear in mind that KL might have more opportunities for you to grow your career faster and widen the salary gap even further.

For KL , there is more chance for me to learn more , but also higher workload . Looks like Kl have a better future .
