These are some of the monitors dedicated for those who use USB-C only ports on their laptops.

Lenovo ThinkVision X1 – 4K USB type-C Monitor.

HP Envy 27 4K – 4K USB C Monitor.

Still researching around and hoping for more monitors to be released and hopefully also some which are cheaper.

Anyone else have extra monitors to recommend?

Contemplating the Acer H277HU at the moment because I don't really need 4K resolution at the moment.

I updated the first post with at least some links and pricing based on some Google searches. Currently using a Dongle to connect to my older Dell 27" monitor.

Monitors using USB-C cable?
sounds great no need keep so many VGA, DVI, HDMI cable around  thumbup.gif
btw hows the quality when compared to HDMI? any difference?

Better because you can also transfer data as well. For example, some of the USB-C monitors come with USB Type A ports for USB3 peripherals so basically your monitor becomes the charging hub and data hub. Power goes from the monitor to the laptop as well. So this is way better than HDMI.

Hi TS Mavik, may I know which monitor you ended up purchasing and mind to share your findings? I'm also using the 2017 MBP 15" with Touch Bar. Looking for a decent USB-C display now.

I haven't found one that is worth purchasing at the moment to be frank. Decided to just get a standard HDMI monitor (cheap one) whilst waiting for more USB C monitors to be introduced into the market.

Thanks for your reply Mavik, I thought you might end up with LG 27UD88-W. Wonder how does this monitor performs compared to the ultrafine 4k and 5k

Definitely not as well but I was more interested in the monitor being the hub of all things on the desktop. Meaning the monitor powers the laptop, as well as other peripherals, are connected to it (external drive, printers, etc..etc..)
