Suddenly today I realized that people couldn't iMessage or FaceTime me if they used my Celcom number. I checked the settings and got the "Waiting for Activation" thing with the spinning circle next to my phone number being grayed out. Can still iMessage/FaceTime using my AppleID or another email, but the number isn't working. Did all the usual troubleshooting already - disabled iMessage/FaceTime, restarted phone, re-enabled - and even called Celcom (they told me to contact Apple) but alas, no solution. Anyone else having this problem since today afternoon with Celcom?

^ Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, no change. Tried switching sim, resetting network settings, dancing the macarena. Nothing works so far. The phone number is still gray in iMessage and FaceTime settings with the usual spinning circle thing. Only possible to send and receive via the email address.

Register your phone at Apple My Id, and create an app-specific password. Then logout from iMessage, login back in again and login using your Apple Id. http://www.imore.com/how-generate-and-mana...asswords-icloudhttp://www.dailydot.com/debug/two-step-ver...ssage-facetime/This post has been edited by engseng: Jan 22 2017, 10:56 AM

QUOTE(Deanna89 @ Feb 2 2017, 01:10 PM) Is this being to resolved? I'm facing the same too. Honestly, I don't know if what I did actually solved the issue of if it was problem with the Telco (Celcom) or Apple's side that got rectified in that time. Anyway, here's what I did; Tried everything listed on this thread, but no change. I then went to Settings > Messages and removed (untick) all the mail addresses associated to iMessage and then disabled the "Enable iMessage" option on top. Did the same for the FaceTime settings after that. Then rebooted the phone. Then went back into Settings and enabled both of them again. Just let it wait for a couple of hours (the spinning thing next to the greyed out phone number) and after a couple of hours both iMessage and Facetime came back and there was a tick again next to my phone number. Touchwood it doesn't happen again.

Is this because mine is SG set? I'm using webe btw.

Is this because mine is SG set? I'm using webe btw. Shouldn't be a problem with SG set. I've used SG and AU sets in the past with Bolehland telcos like Digi and Celcom. Just make sure your time zone (Automatic: Kuala Lumpur) is set correctly in the Date & Time settings. Not sure if I can help you, since I don't use Webe. Sorry ... I checked this forum and it seems there are some other Webe users (click: example) experiencing activation failure with iMessage. According to Apple's troubleshooting page you might need to wait 24hrs after performing the steps. If it doesn't resolve itself, you might need to contact Webe. It also might be a good idea to check Webe's official Twitter or Facebook to see if anyone else has reported iMessage/Facetime issues. This post has been edited by G-17: Apr 17 2017, 02:38 AM

Did you use text message forwarding on Mac? Try to sign out from iMessage of Mac then sign in again
Then check the start msg from settings
