Within 2 or 3 years. TM is planning to pull a COMCAST (US ISP) soon. It is pretty much confirmed by TM CEO/Executives.

TM offers free speed upgrade – do you qualify?
PETALING JAYA: TM is offering free speed upgrades to its existing customers in accordance with the Broadband Improvement Plan announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in his Budget 2017 speech.

Anyone who has subscribed to its services – TM Homeline, and Streamyx and UniFi for residential customers – before February 2017 will be eligible for the free upgrade which it calls the “Thank You Surprise”.

Those on Unifi Advance Plan 30Mbps (megabits per second) will be upgraded to 50Mbps, for instance.

If you are subscribed to multiple services, you will get speed upgrades to all of them as long as you are eligible.

You can go to www.tm.com.my/thankyousurprise to check if you qualify by inputting your Name, MyKad number, Homeline number, mobile number and e-mail address.

The Thank You Surprise will not affect your contract – in other words, your contract will not be extended. However, eligibility will depend on a number of other criterias as well such as your location.

TM will also be sending out SMS and e-mail starting Jan 16 to inform its customers. Those who have yet to receive any message from TM are encouraged to check their spam and junk e-mail folders as the company won’t be resending the message.

The company expects to roll out the free upgrade in stages starting this month.

Not a free speed upgrade due to your top up and changing package from vip5 to vip10 before 2017, so you will get your free speed upgrade to advance 30.
