Maybe. Sometimes it's good to sub a player out (get a better player on, or take pressure off them), other times it's good to leave them on the pitch (if they can handle the pressure and learn from it, or if a tactical/formation change is more important).

Carrick also had a bad game, and he's 35 i.e. sub him out and you save him for another day.

Once Carrick came off, the bench did not have any CM available to replace Pogba.

fellaini aint a CM anymore?

Aside from a few games early this season, has he ever looked like a proper CM for us or anyone else?

Especially one that can provide enough cover and control while the 4 guys in front attack a pool team that can be dangerous on the counter and pressed us enough that Carrick struggled to do anything of note in the 1st half?

JM has generally brought him on as a sub to try and have more height and numbers for aerial play (attacking and/or defensively), but I don't think anyone would say he came on this game to help our defending.

Or to put it another way: If he had come on as a sub for Pogba to partner for Herrera in CM, do you think anything would have been gained?

If Bastian or another specialist CM had been on the bench and you say sub, that would be tempting to agree to.
*
its hard to say what fellaini can contribute playing wt herrera but im very confident he can give more than pogba on this particular game. pogba really struggle and wasteful entire game. he slow down when attack and put united under pressure few times defensively.

fellaini different type of CM if being compared to carrick.. if any he is more similar to pogba

carrick struggle wt lpool high pressing and pogba being everywhere didnt help at all

When Zlatan scores he's god, when he doesn't he's useless.

Make up your mind people. You look at the team, there's no striker that can start ahead of him. Don't just single out players and criticizes your top scorer, the burden of scoring is not only on him though.
*
He is the best to start but he should not be untouchables.. not the 1st time zlatan kind a into dry run. He is great but he aint young anymore.. i think he need a rest from time to time and not playing 90min everytime. PL just much more demanding physically. Like to see more of rashford upfront. When zlatan play we seem to rely abit too much on him for goals

Mou responsible for the result. Should stick atleast with 1-2 more player from the last game. 4-0 is a very good result to carry momentum into the next game.

Seriously suprise martial not even sub in..

Rashford upfront is disappointing so far, can be seen from that Pogba long range pass to him and Rashford missed the one on one. His time not arrived yet, not like how Rooney influenced the team at 18 of age. In my opinion, Martial is the better alternative as the lone striker.

So we're still stuck with a 35 years old striker. Ibra's problem is when the team plays well, he plays well too. When the team not, he looked ineffective.
*
rashford united best forward last season. as young player he need more game time playing upfront. martial style of play i think he fit more playing wide. he like to cut inside and its his strong point. if any he can be like ronaldo not no 9.

A lot of the comments here is so contradict. When zlatan play and the team lose, blame him for not scoring.. when rashford play and lose blame why no play zlatan but use a youngster...

And please why you think stick to the team who won 4-0 last game will help, please check who is the opponent first la
*
i think blame more toward mou not zlatan himself. when things doesnt work wt zlatan.. make changes. the way thing goes zlatan & pogba look untouchables. dont think its good for united. we should score more.. united scoring stat is quite bad. zlatan should be rested from time to time.. playing 90min game everytime is exhausting for player at his age.

why not? we didnt score much this season.. 4-0 is a very good result and its bottom team hull at home.. martial should start at least.

we score only 33 sweat.gif

I am having reservation about the game tonight. Should be another draw since he's going to keep zlatan in for another 90 minutes

Would prefer to start Zlatan and sub him out when the score is comfortable. But I think even Mourinho is afraid to sub Zlatan.
