as a matter of fact, i would rather have fellaini at the front instead of zlatan. zlatan has been scoring some goals here and there but he is very inconsistent and his passing as well as his build up play are pretty bad. at least we all know fellaini can control the ball and pass better.

our midfielder and striker formation would most likely be:
Herrera - Carrick - Pogba
Miki Mata
Fellaini

kinda worried about the lack of pace tho Miki is the only one who can sprint lmao

pretty sure zlatan is a better shooter, but im talking about build up play and passing range. let's be honest, apart from scoring goals (in which he should have scored more considering that he had wasted lots of 1 to 1 chances), zlatan has been piss poor in the build up play. ive been watching every man utd matches live this season, and more often than not he would simple mistakes especially in his passing and kinda wished mourinho would have the ball to sub him off in numerous games.

Nah.. most of his assists are tap ins or from inside the penalty box, and if he had performed more consistently he could have gotten WAY MORE assists and goals. What i meant about build up play is primarily the passing game right before the penalty box. His passing and ball distribution to his teammates has been piss poor. Sure he is not the only one at fault, and he had saved us on many occasions, but im just saying that he could have done a lot better had he not been missing those simple passes and clear goal chances.

Just in case u havent noticed yet, we had our own recent run of poor performing games even without fellaini or rooney playing. So there's that. Most of the time fellaini is deployed as a CDM to defend and to receive long balls at both ends of the pitch. Doesnt help when the rest of the team is failing to create a simple string of passes or botching simple crosses into the penalty box.

The last time i checked, fellaini is a CM and plays in CDM role. I would be surprised if he had scored some goals considering that he has been used sparingly. Of course zlatan is our highest scorer this season considering that he has been playing 90minutes in almost every single game this season. But that doesnt change my opinion that zlatan is performing inconsistently, missing simple passes in the build ups and missing simple goal scoring chances up front. We have lots of shots this season, but we fail to convert as many goals. Maybe opponents' goalkeepers r praticing black magic huehuehue /s

Will mourinho play fellaini later as a ST? Who knows. Will he even be playing later? Who knows. But we have no strikers and no pacy players apart from miki (and young who is not performing at all). I dont expect us to counter attack without pacy players, so mourinho might go for more direct approach which is to play long balls.

just because he scores most of our goals does not mean he is immune to criticism. just like how rooney is being criticized despite being our club's top scorer. also, just because one hasnt perform simply due to lack of playing time doesnt mean u should shun him for the rest of his career.
maybe mediocre result and performance is okay for you. for me, mourinho should be more brave to drop zlatan when he is not performing. plain simple.

rashford was reported to be injured prior to the team news being announced. without rashford, it would have been a very different team. glad to see him back on the team

anyway it will be an uphill battle and im still hopeful that we can nick something out of it in the 2nd half

cant do much when we only have 2 midfielders and one striker for most of the 2nd half. the rest are literally playing as defenders.

a lot of the players are starting to feel the fatigue judging by the recent form of games, not just about the result but also the players' performance. some of these players have been starting in literally almost every matches.

that being said, man utd did well defensively but the red card changed the game. It was a soft red card, but it was a foul, so the player is always at the mercy of the referee.

but diego costa tho. rofl. trying to seek yellow cards from non existent fouls and provoking Rojo especially.

yeap, some players do need a bit of rest. i thought zlatan's suspension is actually good for him as he has been playing week in week out.
but that is mourinho for you. he rarely changes his starting 11 (except with our wings since we have inconsistent wingers) since his chelsea days except when playing against teams from lower leagues.

I hope mourinho gives pogba the same treatment micki had. Drop him for a few matches. Let herrera play as the more advanced midfielder role replacing pogba. Carrick or schweini as the CDM.

same old problem throughout the season. build-up play to attack especially at home is too slow = very little clear cut chances. and when we managed to create some chances, the forwards couldnt convert them.

very likely half of the team will be sold or on loan by the start of next season.
