Read these:
http://www.apple.com/macosx/tiger/ http://www.apple.com/support/tiger/ I suppose ur ibook comes wit os 10.4 I cant find the link what to do when u just switch from pc to mac.. well google can help you if you need more.. else just try and error. also these: http://www.silvermac.com/category/new-to-mac/ and browse thru this subforum, there are threads of ppl asking how to install stuff and uninstall apps/stuff (unlike win, in mac it is just drag and drop) and much more. QUOTE(prasys @ Mar 3 2007, 01:28 PM) There are many dude...Just use versiontracker and google is your friend Last time when I just got my iBook G4 (bought it 2nd hand from a friend also).. I also dunno what to do with it.. basically I played with it.. but with some experience in playing OSx86, I managed to get around it somehow.. iBook G4 is sorta weak...Just to let you know that . Nevertheless , OSX is one of the best oses out there ! well, basically, if there's Windows option, there's bound to me a Mac version of it.. and vice versa (usually).. except that I can't find AutoCAD for Macs though.. and yeah.. iBook G4 does seem kinda weak.. mine's the PowerPC G4 933MHz version.. Firefox 2.0 with Panther 10.3.9 makes viewing webpages laggy especially when scrolling.. opera does it better, but the fastest is still the stock Safari.. Well.. despite the slowness, I'm still loving it.. the simplicity in it is something u just can't miss.. |

After upgraded to Tiger, then update it to 10.4.9, everything seemed to run faster now.. Safari loads in seconds, web page scrolling was smoother and etc..
Although macs does promote simplicity, it isn't really a simple OS though,.. with all the shortcuts to be learn.. some might say the lack of the right clicking button is ridiculous.. Basically, an iBook G4 is STILL capable of daily mail-and-surf activities.. iTunes run fine on it, as well as various productivity task applications.. don't expect to perform miracle on other intensive tasks though.. Added on March 25, 2007, 6:48 pm QUOTE(kazasho @ Mar 25 2007, 02:17 PM) There's SketchUp for Macs.. .. i think there's ArchiCAD for Macs too..
