Hi,

WTA all the sifu's advise, looking to build a htpc and need some recommendations, requirements as follows

1) able to fit a Corsair AX1200i psu ( bought, overkill i know ) sorry i mistyped as AX1500i earlier..corrected
2) fit a GTX 1080 with option to water cool
3) prefer if can fit at least 6 full size hdd's, not a must
4) I dont mind paying for a good case, but hopefully not an arm or a leg

Any htpc casing to recommend? was looking at the Lian Li PC-C60 but looks like will be just fitting for the GC, prefer abit more space in case i wc the card. Plus its out of stock in most places and shipping cost fr US is a killer, not to mention the exchange rate.

Thanks

Uh, most of the HTPC case are slim type.. not jumbo size. blink.gif
or U can buy a Disc Array Storage(DAS) device plug into your PC via usb3.

There are plenty of those device available in the market.

Let me guess:
Videos/Movies playing based HTPC? I have 1 too. rclxms.gif

Here is my rig's setup:
Xeon E3 1230v2 (2nd hand junk)
Asus H77 Itx (2nd hand junk)
Silverstone FTZ-01 Silver ver:
PSU - SX500-LG
8GB DDR3 corsair ram(2nd hand junk)
Crucial M4 128GB SSD (2nd hand junk).

My DAS:
Hotway Probox 4 bays HDD non raid, USB3 / esata interface.

Century 5 bays HDD USB3 interface with individual ON/OFF switch.

I am planning to get the 10 HDD version later if the exchange rate is right.

ITX based cases? The GTX1080 itself is already a problem for most HTPC cases. Is there a maximum height for the case if it is the lying type?

Can take a look at Fractal Design node series. I think they make quite reputable HTPC cases. For the thinner ones, you might have to forgo drive cages to make it work for the GPU

Thx for pointing out the DAS box bro, might go that way and just get a HTPC with a single or just a double hdd, still considering all options

Did consider and actually v tempting drool.gif , but eveything in USD, plus exchange rate now not so favourable cry.gif , plus the shipping cost a bomb.

Yup, i know the GTX1080 is a prob, I dont mind ATX or even EATX, bigger footprint is ok but shud be lying down, no towers..thats why asking around, all the HTPC cases just misses out on something..still no harm wishing, I can wait a short while
