if via OTA, not yet.

the official 7.0 you mentioned will need to download the firmware and also use the Huawei software to flash it.

also, i recall some forumer also commented to Huawei removed all posts about EMUI5 coming to MY in Feb, which i think is true coz i can't find any more mention of it. and i'm very sure i had seen it earlier on.

Yes, what I meant is via OTA. The official one...not those using firmware finder.

1. P9...already got forumer received it.
2. P9 premium...I already received it.

I think I did a quick overview of multiport chargers somewhere in here or in the previous version of this thread when I was checking out if the Aukey QC3.0 charger would FC our phones or not.

And yes, this was BEFORE we realised that the charger had to be clearly marked as HFCP compatible for FC.

Managed to reach 1000-1100mA once before with the old Anker PowerIQ 5-port. Also, one of my cap ayam chargers also can do 800-1000mA.

All these not even with the Huawei cable (I actually keep the ori cable in the box just coz)... Just decent microB cables with good Type-C adapters.

I had cap ayam 3.1A adapter , then 2.1A xiaomi adapter , both also can reach 850ma+ battery ampere reading .
Then today tangal gatal , went and bought another cable , the brand start with Joy then forgot what , reading reach 900ma+ hmm.gif

Too bad p9 lite don't have fast charge, manual only stated this p9 lite can absord 5V2A , cannot be more and still using micro USB cable sweat.gif

My P9 Premium MY unit is on Digi sim...if that help.

Now on Android 7 build B361. Because it was rooted previously, I've no option but to do a full wipe after flash as it re-lock the bootloader & reset the phone after OTA.

Re-install all the apps again. Running good without any issue reported on those beta version...like Facebook & Messenger force close. Well, at least my wife hasn't been complaining...except losing some high score records on her games. biggrin.gif

Remember to do a full backup before flashing the OTA (WhatsApp, pictures, google sync & etc).

My take is it's ALWAYS better to do a factory reset after update if you are moving to a different Android version...ie. 5 to 6 or 6 to 7.

It's a staggered release most probably. Only a select number of IMEIs at one time. Can they do this (selective OTA)? Of course, if not how did they manage the beta program?

As for HOW they select who they release to, that pretty much remains a mystery.

Wind01 For me (and my H8), starting "clean" wasn't really a choice lol, thanks to my NEED for root.

After the first OTA to Nougat, rooting pretty much wiped everything in /data/, including some system files (Bluetooth, NFC). Thinking I did it wrong, I rolled back to MM, which wiped everything again (totally this time) to allow for re-encryption.

So the second time I went up to Nougat (OTA again), I was clean as a whistle lol. Again re-rooted and only then found out I needed to flash additional update packs MANUALLY afterwards for proper systems operation.

Many facepalms were had afterwards. On the plus side, I did end up with a somewhat "clean" update to Nougat, so it wasn't too bad lol.

Rooting need unlock bootloader...to unlock bootloader...device will be reset. dry.gif
After OTA need to unlock bootloader again...the device will reset again. tongue.gif
Feel you...I've gone thru the same steps. I'm like you...since already force reset...no option then...just follow.

I'm not sure if the recovery played a part in your case. But the encryption at bootloader level definately is.

On the other hand, stock non-root device generally will not need a reset after update....unless you have issue. Even then, a wipe to the cache may be sufficient. Reset will only be your last option.

Yeah forgot about the bootloader unlock reset. I guess in the end it wouldn't have mattered anyway lol, unlocking the loader would have cleared everything out to begin with.
