A typical case is most people still needs a pc or notebook but spends most of their time on phones and replaces phones much more often than their pc/nb.

Myself for instance has gone through 6 phones and 3 tablets since i last spent any money on my nb. Thats why PC shipments are dropping.

make sense because smartphone lifespan isn't as long as a PC or NB

Computers are matured products..a pc from 5 years ago can do most things a brand new one can. 5 years ago we have unuseable cameras on smartphones and till today still meh though getting better.

Isn't it one of the reason because of sustainability?

It's like 5 years ago Corei7 still can pretty much perform daily tasks and some light gaming. So why need to change?

Still the depreciating usd does not help. I think can only get branded i3 (without dedicated gpu) + 24' monitor with RM2.3k or so hmm.gif
