Wonder how they managed to get 17.25 hours with the latest update. Updated yesterday but battery lasted barely 6 hours with normal surfing on Firefox and chat on Telegram. Actually most of the time was idle.  mad.gif

ps. the screen brightness was set less than half the bar and bluetooth off. Nothing was connected to the mbp.
Hopefully is was not the firefox that drained the battery.

i guess the update still not yet available to public. unless you join their beta program.

I actually can't get the functionality concept of the touchbar.

If you tell me there is a set of virtual keys on say a mobile phone. I kinda agree it works because you are looking at where you type. But having it on a laptop where you are bound to have to lower your vision to visually get a view of the touchbar in order to use it is kind of an annoyance to me. More so especially with auto correction. Not to mention not touch typist friendly in the first place. Maybe force touch can be added later.

Other than pure novelty, and possibly another part that fails. I don't really know what to make of it.

Don't really like butterfly switch keyboards as well.
*
my view on touchbar:

i guess its mainly meant for photo/video/music editting, the workflow will be much more smoother than you using mouse/trackpad.

other than that like word prediction or options, i dont find it useful. biggrin.gif

just a bit overpriced if you ask me, latest razer blade is more worth for money if you dont need mac OS.

What's the battery performance now, 9-10 hours browsing?
*

Sorry Westlife, my mistake, I googled and found this.
My personal experience, I did not hear the fan at all although the keyboard is hot.

QUOTE(invisiblelim @ May 22 2017, 11:48 AM)
same here, although the temperature went up to 50+ and the keyboard had started to have a pinched sound, doesn't really realise the fan is running as well. LOL
*
did you guys try gaming on it?
mine open dota 2 and civilization. after 30mins the fans voice very loud.

Many call and cry for Kaby Lake chip... u want it, u got it. Basically it goes up RM400-600.

Though a new base model of 128GB priced lower than original 256 GB base model by 300-400.
Well.... this is simply too small for any "pro".

So would u take the old model( if it is still available)? Or pay bit more for the speed bump
*
didn't notice that, thanks!

i bought 13" 2016 with tb, 512gb ssd, 32gb 16gb ram last year.

just wanna compare the price difference.

no regrets for buying early. rclxms.gif

Just saw somewhere..... SWITCH announce RM100 discount.... no big deals la.

What do u guys think? Kaby lake deserve the rm500 price hike?
*
so-so to me.

i got tax relief 3k for computer last year which translates into around rm700-800 in tax rebate + education price discount + cc discount 1.25%.

Cc discount? What's is that?
*
amex x5 treatpoint.

400tp = rm1

eg. rm 8000 x 5x treatpoint = 40000tp

40000tp / 400 = rm100 worth of tp ( you can change it to cash voucher for kfc/pizzahut/whatever in the catalog)

rm100 cashback/rm8000 spent = 1.25%

Still thinking to get the TB or the nonTB with 512GB SSD. Not a fan of the touchbar but having 4 ports is useful.

Will use them for a long time as well. hmm.gif
*
buy for 4ports.

me also seldom/never use tb despite im having tb model.

4ports i find quite useful.
one for power supply
one for hdmi output
one for external harddisk (occasionally)
