Summary

Wireless-AC router with filtering, this replaces the stock TM router. In addition to stability, this router is able to block based on category(1).
Price RM880.

(1) e.g. just tick "Gambling/Pornography..etc", and entire category blocked. Cloud-based (Cisco opendns) filtering so its always up to date. (You can enable exceptions with whitelisting as well, eg block social media, but only allow twitter..etc).

The router prevents users from manually changing DNS, so anyone that changes to google DNS or TM, will still have the filtering enforced. smile.gif

Details:

This is a router ideal for offices and places where the admin/boss wants to filter out unwanted time-wasting websites, like facebook, pornography, gambling..etc.

The price is included in questions below, I hope this format is easy to understand and explains all smile.gif

1. What is this device?
- Highend wireless router with dual core CPU.

2. Where do I install it?
- It replaces your router, so if you are currently using the TM/Maxis supplied router, this device will replace that (Vlan tagging supported so simply swap existing router).

3. Does it come with wireless?
- Yes, wireless AC and high transmit power, so should cover very large areas comfortably.

4. Is it compatible with Unifi, TIME,..etc.
- Yes, compatible with most ISPs. Will replace existing router.

5. How does filtering work? Is it effective?
- Yes, even if some users change to google DNS or TM DNS manually, the device hijacks it and forces them to use its DNS thereby effectively enforcing filtering rules.

6. Is it stable for enterprise use? How many users can it handle?
- Very stable. Upto ~50 users comfortably. (higher end devices available if you have more users)

7. I need a general idea about price: I have around 10-50 users, how much is the device (with wireless AC)?
- RM880

8. So for RM880 what do I get?
- A very stable router that can handle WAN speeds upto 500mbps, with wireless AC, and filtering capabilities. Price also includes initial setup assistance (1 hour) to get you up and running in no time.

9. I have no IT, can you come to my office install it?
- We can pre-configure it with your settings (unifi user/pass, wireless settings, filtering..etc) so that you can you just unpack, plug and surf.

10. I still need someone to come to my office...
- For additional RM120 (Klang valley area only), the device can be delivered with a technician to install it.

Any additional questions please ask or PM me smile.gif

If you want that kind of strict then block all ports and only allow HTTP(s) traffic, so if they use some VPN client, it will not be able to connect.. Should be quite effective, but many other apps will also stop working (eg games, some chat apps..etc).

Hi, MediaTek based with dual-core MIPS processor. pfsense only runs on x86 and ARM, is experimental (at best) on MIPS64..

So for all practical reasons, no, you cant install pfsense on it.
