Hi all, I just want to know if this is normal for Honda Jazz (bought in Dec 2015) maintenance service. I did my 20,000 km service today. My actual km is only 17,000 but i'm late by 3 months already.

The SA told me to do my 30,000km service in another 3 months coz he said i should have it serviced 3 months ago. I estimated that in 3 months, my km will be like 20,000km only. Should i go for that 30,000km service or not? I'm confused.[COLOR=red]

And this 20,000km service costed me RM500. I thought it's quite expensive. So, after coming back from the service, i checked with the maintenance service cost from Honda website, only cost around RM 246 (for engine oil + drain plug washer + oil filter + labour charge + GST).

I looked back at my receipt. They added:

(i) evaporator cleaner              = RM18.75
(ii) aircond evaporator cleaner  = RM 120.00
(iii) Nano mist                          = RM 68.00
(iv) lubricate frt both power win = RM 5.00

and the engine oil, instead of RM79.00 (in the website), it became RM122.00 (i thought it's ok maybe coz it's a better oil or smthg like that (they use snow-20 engine oil)).

But my question is, is this normal for 20,000km service? Anyone here has the same experience like me? i want to be prepared for my next 30,000km service. Thanks in advance![COLOR=red]

I just did my 20k service too but the SC guy did not ask me to pick up additional stuffs like you listed.
With additional longer man hour due to fixing my squeaky brake, I paid RM295 total.

Just say no when they ask you to opt in the useless shits whistling.gif

I am in Penang. There are only 2 SCs in the island. The Vivahill is the one I go usually.

Hi guys. Anyone had a bearing problem with jazz? My jazz recently starts giving some noise from the back. I dont know if it's related to tyre or something else but my friend says it could be related to bearing.

0w-20 is more towards fuel economical where as 0w-40/30 is more on performance.

It's like tyre noise or wind but with rhythm. Getting louder when driving and speeding.

How old is your car? If it's 4 or 5years, then perhaps it's the hardening of your tyres that causes the sound.

my personal opinion says that 0W-20 is too thin even though the manual says the jazz can use 0W-20.....i am more comfortable of xW30

Going to get my Jazz E later of the month, also doing some financial planning for this year so I would like to ask if I drive only 10,000km in the first year, I still need to go for 6mths Service once and 12mths service once? can I opt for just 1 time service due to low mileage? Or by doing so my warranty will be void?

According to my SA, you need still need to send the service based on month if the mileage didnt reach. If not, you are considered breach the service schedule and any warranty claim will not be entertained.

So yes, warranty void if didnt follow the service schedule.

the way to test bearing is to jack the car up... the end where you suspect have problems if you do not have a lift...

and rotate the wheels with your hand up to a bit of speed...

then grab the absorber on the corner and feel if there is vibrations... if a bearing is smooth, it should not feel anything significant..

it is all about the viscosity consistency through out the temp range... 0w-20 is ok if you have good oils..
