Hi guys!

Apologies if I may sound like a noob, but I would really like to seek advice from you photography pros here.
I've tried looking it up on the internet and asking around in some shops, but I couldn't get much (maybe I didn't know where to look or I didn't ask the right people). I don't want to waste my gadgets not knowing what to do with it, so I really do appreciate some help in opinions, info or advice!

So, I currently own a Nikon D300 (for the past 5 years) and I've put a lot of care for it and even buying several lenses for it - Sigma fish eye lens, Nikkor prime lens, Nikkor zoom lens, Tamron wide angle lens, SB-600 flash, extra CF Card, WiFi Card and a few other HOYA filters.

The problem is that, I haven't been using it at all this year, as I don't do professional photography anymore so I've shifted to the smaller, lighter mirrorless camera instead for casual, light use. I bought the SONY A5000.

What do I do with my Nikon D300 and its lens + flash?
I know I could sell it as it's working perfectly, but I was wondering if there was any way possible to get a converter that can enable the usage of my current lenses mounted into my A5000? At least I get to use them again on my new camera instead of getting rid of it.

Finally - if there is no possible way to mount the lens onto my new camera, I'm willing to sell off my Nikon D300 and its lenses + flash. sad.gif

The garage section is your answer if planning to sell.

Tons of lens adapter out there for sony, you might want to survey the brand, google abit will do. Remember in photography world, quality scale with price, no doubt.

If you are converting to Sony, I suggest save up abit and go for its full-frame, I would say the only brand that offer affordable full-frame, excluding the latest version sweat.gif .

There is a way for you to mount it on the A5000 using adapter (AI to E-mount), which can be quite cheap on Taobao (no more than RM200).

Using adapters, you'll need to focus manually, set exposure manually or use aperture priority mode.
The adapter will have a manual aperture ring that will allow approximate aperture control settings.

Thanks for the feedback!
So means, if I'm using those lenses on the adaptor, the autofocus wont work anymore right?

You must be really lucky to find someone that also wants to trade in their A7 with kit lens for your 70D + all your gear!!!!
I would be so lucky if I can find someone who wants all my Nikon D300 with all my lenses and flash, to trade for a SONY e-mount lens for my A5000 sad.gif

Yup, that's right, AF won't work anymore
But a5000 has focus peaking built in, it's very useful if you're doing manual focus and it's not that hard to manual focus nod.gif

However, if you had the higher end Sony bodies such as A6300/6500/A7m2, there are adapters out there that supports AF to a limited numbers of Nikon lenses (mainly E or G lens)
Those AF adapters works on your a5000 bodies too just that it will struggle in terms of performance/speed

not going off topic. lets give a solution to the question TS asked.

there is several adapter available for Nikon mount to (sony) E mount that lets u use back existing lens.

given infomation that you gotten urself an A5000, sadly, A5000 doesnt fully support newer nikon adapter with full benefits of (fast)AF.

u can grab some rm60-80 adapter from ebay that allows u to MF with your existing nikon lens.

D300 is a old camera, not sure if there are diehard people would still buy it off your hand. but the lenses definitely worth some price in the 2nd hand market, djboycalvin suggested KLDSLR takes in 2nd lens and sells (turnover) them really fast. but u gonna lose some money, but its faster then getting trolled in WTS threads.
