My RN3pro sudah few times bootloop and had to reflash stable rom, then flash recovery, wipe the passwords & pin via recovery Terminal, and restore previous nandroid backup

maybe u can check ur firewall, and disable antivirus 1st
since unlocking needs a good internet connection
why dont let the Mi Unlock gets thru firewall?
maybe connection to the unlock server is blocked by ur firewall
but maybe only lah..
how to get to the firewall settings is a google type away
and disabling ur antivirus is just a 'normal' way when dealing with these things, sometimes

after i applied, i go straight ubl (unlock bootloader) without permission

i hit a brick when suddenly cant get modified bootloader file
but then again, i hit google with a few keywords.
do it myself. and done is 10seconds

yes, u cant do anything.
connect to PC, make sure USB debugging and ur PC is ALLOWED as trusted PC
then u can do all ur fastboot thing using elevated command prompt

Mi5X runs on MIUI
Mi A1 runs on Stock Android

just root ur phone, and install stock android ROM
i have been doing this since day 1 😆

somehow having root is a familiar and easier way,
download direct to phone, reboot to twrp and istall..

this is my preference, because i dont like this pc-android connection with 3rd party apps

im still on Nitrogen stable build
the Android 8 is buggy and users reporting stability issues..
