Only two reasons to unlock the phone.

1) want to flash other MIUI ROM (Xiaomi.eu)
2) want to flash CM or Lineage

You don't need to unlock if just want to root.

sure no need to unlock bootloader to root? now got permission to unlock. but stuck on unlock tool. 50% cannot connect to device

did you installed the drivers correctly?

my phone can connect to my pc normally bro. can view files and transfer files from pc to phone vice versa.

when in fastboot, does it connect?

yest can connect. it says mi device on the screen that has unlock button on it.

that is recovery mode.. if fastboot should have a mi bunny fastboot logo like this.

haha i can get to that fastboot bro. and the unlock tool says mi device and then i press unlock button. in miui forum says need to upgrade to this miui_HMNote3_6.1.7_2690e6381d_5.0_2.zip but i cannot find the files. i'm on the stable 6.0 android from OTA update

- just flash china dev rom. (not sure if global dev got same settings)
- login same Mi ID
- turn on developer options by tapping multiple times on miui version
- additional settings - developer options - scroll until you see mi unlock status, tap it and add to authorize unlock status (or whatever the button)..then you'll see success or done status.
- Now boot into fastboot, and your phone should be unlocked successfully now.

enable developer options, and

install the drivers
