SHAH ALAM: DiGi.Com Bhd appointed Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd as its vendor to integrate, deploy and manage its 3G network leading up to the commercial launch in early 2009.

QUestion: On the DiGi data page here:- http://www.digi.com.my/data_services/gprs/...prs_coverage.do

Looks like EDGE coverage is somewhat limited.

However, according to the DiGi broadband page here:-
http://www.digi.com.my/broadband/coverage.html

EDGE coverage is very extensive. Which is correct?

Thanks RMvalues. I might be moving somewhere where the DiGi data map says got only GPRS but the DiGi BB says got EDGE.

BTW, can ayone confirm if DiGi EDGE is sufficient to listen to a 64.1Kbps streaming radio with minimal buffering?

Hi Kelv, I listen to BBC Radio 2:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/radio2

Even if it falls down to 32.1Kbps, is good enough for me as long as it's continuous.

Thanks! smile.gif

Guys, I'm confused again. RM values had said earlier when he contacted DiGi CS, they say the DiGi broadband coverage map is correct. Now when I called DiGi CSR myself, he says the DiGi data services page is correct. Look at Batu Gajah:

a) Acccording to DiGi broadband, Batu Gajah has EDGE. In fact, the EDGE coverage is very extensive.

b) But according to DiGi data services page, Batu Gajah only has GPRS. Inf act, EDGE coverage seems rather limited.

I love DiGi! Great quality, customer service, and pricing! I asked about their EDGE coverage confusion and they got back to me within 48 hours! And not with some canned or BS response! Bravo! BTW confirm that their DiGi Broadband coverage map is correct.

Comments :
I'm confused.

Your data services coverage page shows the town of Batu Gajah has only GPRS coverage:
http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/5575/gprs.gif

But your DiGi broadband page says Batu Gajah has the faster EDGE coverage:
http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/3457/edge.gif

Please advise which is correct because I would like to subscribe to DiGi and use your services in Batu Gajah, but would not like to be confined to GPRS speed.

Thanks!

Is the coverage map here or here more accurate? The Google Maps on the broadband coverage map shows more EDGE coverage than the former coverage map.

Just want to make sure that my area is covered before subscribing, at Malacca airport. And no, no one is using Digi in my house, so I can't test. Also, how satisfy are you towards Digi EDGE's coverage?

I had the same conundrum with Batu Gajah area, the CS confirmed for that area it has EDGE.

Celcom Xpax daily broadband (done on EDGE - 3G keeps deopping to EDGE/GPRS)

Now, one more time I hear anybody says a particular company is the fastest, widest, and greatest...

Where to get EDGE DiGi Prepaid @ RM 5? Is it daily usage or monthly usage? hmm.gif
*
Just use your DiGi prepaid sim, stick it inside your modem. Up until RM5 the usage will be PAYU; once it reaches that it's free for the rest of the day...

NB: 1) I've verified with DiGi CSR, it's only for prepaid. Postpaid still PAYU. 2) Usage sucks as IINM it's limited to 100MB a day...

No need to subscribe. If you have a DiGi prepaid SIM card, just insert into your modem and configure (APN diginet IINM), connect and surf away!

Anyone here have problems using digi edge past 100MB on the daily unlimited? I saw the TOC that the quota is 100MB and wondered if anyone having problems with it yet, because 100MB quota is too low even for normal surfing.
*
That only applies for their RM5 daily mobile data usage IINM

I'm a DiGI BB user actually - so where there is no 3G, it falls back to EDGE.

You can also sign up for DiGi's data unlimited plan RM66 a month for access to its EDGE network. Much faster than Celcom's or MAxis' EDGE network IMHO.
