No doubt EDGE is more stable compared to Celcom but the download speed is miserably slow. I believe it is the users congestion issue. Might think of other options now, but as far as I know Maxis 3G has yet to reach my campus. Else gonna suffer another 3 more months. I admit the sudden slow down on download speed makes me crazy. Maybe there is a trade, you can't have stability and fast speed together. Well, at least this applies to my location.

Thats the trade off of using EDGE, its still a shared network, sometimes will drop lower than GPRS speeds but when it is good, it is really fast and stable

Well, at least this applies to my location. define slow. one time I used my friend's celcom 3G and it took like 2-3 minutes to load a webpage, maybe due to network congestion, i dunno. But DIGI's edge has been very consistent. a webpage can be loaded in less than 10 seconds on average, which is pretty alright to me liao

My area is heavily congested with DiGi users. I need more than 10 seconds to open Google page, sometimes. Is that slow enough?

Consider yourself to be lucky as this is by far one of the best speeds I've seen from a DiGi EDGE user. It is even faster than most Celcom Broadband users.

I can load google page about 7 seconds even my max speed shows 9KBps because of the network balancer on the tower. Digi need to install a new tower to support more user and balance between data and voice.

Whoa, my speed really that good. So DiGi networks is congested right now? But i still can feel the stability.
I can get that speed only when speed test or downloading only, if browsing, the connection manager just shows 2 -9 kBps

Well, sometimes speed isn't everything. Would you rather have good speeds occasionally but the connection isn't stable or would you rather have kinda low average speeds which is consistent and the connection is stable? This post has been edited by yongkailoon: Mar 16 2009, 10:57 AM

For new registrations, it usually take within few working days before you can register for OCS. Mine took about 3 days if I'm not mistaken.

QUOTE(amyhs99 @ Mar 16 2009, 12:42 PM) Owh, didn't know such things. Btw, using webcam + browsing still acceptable. I love DiGi. Usually, the data received/sent by a webcam will be compressed so usually there won't be problems using a webcam, the latency/ping will be the one that determines the smoothness of the video as long as your bandwidth is able to support it.
