Hi all,
My parents has a shoplot without geran for more than 10 years. Recently the new developer has taken over the old developer and geran has been release to all of us.
The new developer has stated we need to engage lawyer for our own unit geran while there are people advised ua to go thru state land office which could be lesser charge and straightforward...
Appreaciate any of the property expert can advise which is the right way to do so?

Thanks

You can engage a lawyer to do all the procedural works for you. Otherwise, if you are not working, you can do it on your own but it needs alot of time for oyu to run here and there and involving procedural works. pm me for more info

Where is your property situated? As in, which state.

Either way, given the fact that you need to post a question in respect of this, I think you will be better off engaging a solicitor to assist you to attend to the matter. This is a process called "perfection of transfer", simply means perfecting the registration of the title in your parents' name or whoever purchases the property.

Did your parents borrowed any loan from any financial institutions during the acquisition, have they paid it off?

It may sound simply when people are telling you but it's more technical and troublesome when you get your hands on.
