I thought only I had this problem. I closed all windows and sprayed my room with Ridsect, targeting corners and behind the wardrobe. Close door and go to work. When you come back from work open window to ventilate, change the bedsheets and look for dead cricket.

Pest control, the natural way........ put some frogs there... Or simpler way, spray your room with household insecticide, close the door/window and let it smoke out/kill the intruders.......... repeat a few times if necessary......

are you sure it's the sound of cricket not the tinnitus? if not at the roof, could be outside nearby trees.
