QUOTE(limeuu @ Apr 8 2009, 06:07 PM) you will find out for yourself soon enough....it's not just about money, but a career, lifestyle, and at the end a lifelong pension.......gov work 5 days, office hours (if you choose the right work), 30-35 days leaves a year, unrecorded leave for all cpd......... medicine is an art. once $$ is involved, i think this art is polluted...gp's works very long hours, no work/leave no pay, overheads running clinic, staff headache, ....... tats y i planned to work for govt...though gf's mum kept on mumbling about me goin into private practice... I really hope more ppl will be willing to work in the govt to help n to serve.... Juz like my scouts honour: Do my best for God, King and country Help ppl at all times To obey the scout laws (not really following) QUOTE(imamaxis @ Apr 8 2009, 11:14 PM) I really have this question buzzing in my head for 4 months. I just went for JPA interview for medicine. I heard that JPA scholars will be bonded with government for 10 years. Can i do my specialization during the 10 years? Because i can't stay as an MO for 10 years. If i have to wait 10 years then do my specialization, i will only be a specialist at the age of 45. Then, when can i do mt sub-specialty? sad.gif My aim is to become a specialist at the age of 35. Please anyone answer my questin. Can i do my speciality during my 10 years bnd with JPA? icon_question.gif Take JPA scholarship la...whether u r in IPTA or JPA scholars....coz its inclusive of master training...* usually chinese students felt burdened by this 10 yrs service...think of long run...u will benefit fr it... last time in 1st yr, whn i heard about JPA, i thought oni for Malay...wasted....its for every1 and u can really benefit out of it leh good luck! |

QUOTE(kaiying @ May 12 2009, 03:13 PM) Thanks for the advise people! haha! biasa la HO will say tatand limeuu.. i mentioned im not obsessed with the title larr.. and yes, i will take ur advise. hmm.. i've seen doctors life before. i used to work as a receptionist in a clinic, for a real respected doctor, he's really good and famous around our area. kinda sad to see, he is very very stress due to his responsibility therefore he's kinda bad tempered. but weird thing bout doctor, they save lifes but not himself huh? being overweight and stuff.. owh well, i don't think he even have time for all that.. and i came across a young doctor, doing housemanship for UKM. i was asking him medic stuff.. and he said, 'don't take medic'.. hehe. cuz he was tellliin how tough and how tiring it was, and also low salary (during housemanship).. so conclusion is, i wil think twice (cuz actually whenever i do personality test, i always fail to be in doctors which is the I category) go through proper graduate route. sorry for wasting y'll time. thank you. :salute: but they still love their job |
