need to ask.
IMU dentistry recognised? AIMST med is a full msia degree? no twinning? I'm doing UWAFP in perth, can my cert be used to apply for AIMST or IMU? and I'm doing ESL here, do i still need muet and ielts?

QUOTE(manlokwok @ Feb 14 2008, 09:36 PM) I was doing UWAFP last year. and IMU do recognise UWAFP. As long as you achieve 85 or above, you will nearly get a place. oh? ^^ but 85 is hard >.< hopefully i can manage 80, or better, get into medic in aus.

QUOTE(limeuu @ Feb 16 2008, 08:34 PM) are you all referring to the TER system? If so, the cut off this feb08 imu intake is 91, and that is considered low, last year it was 94..........and if you don't expect 99 and above, don't bother applying to melbourne (academic now, the last undergraduate batch going in next week, and no intake 09 and 10, next batch graduate entry 2011), and unsw only considers those with 97 and above....... uwa and monash needs isat (or umat for on shore students), and if you don't make the cut off there, you don't even get to the next stage, ie the interview....... like i said, many will eventually return to msia, to one of the private med schools, particularly imu....... um.... where else no need ISAT to go into med/ den in aus?

i'm pretty sure sg grads are working in their country instead of msia. Anyway, I think a doctor should have passion for his job and studies. I'll have to agree with limeuu that it is a bit sad to see some ppl 'forced' into med just because of pressure from parents.

not sure bout the news I got off sin chew, and yes there are some false info inside. It's kinda like scaring ppl not to go into med. lol. Um I did apply for aimst, but the letter will be issued only in mid july right? So, not sure whether I can get in or not as priority is given to their foundation students first.

I can't really voice out as everyone here is my senior. IMHO, i think there are doctors who doesn't put money as their priority. Yes I believe a lot of new med students are entering med just because of the reputation / MONEY / or forced by parents. but surely there are those who enter because of the passion, and not money as their priority.
Honestly speaking. I never had the impression doctors earn A LOT. In terms of work load / shift hours too. I'm not being hypocritical as OMG! said, but really, I wanna enter med cos well, I wanna help others. I haven't start my course yet, so basically you all know more bout how it is, but I speak base on what I feel. Sorry if there are any bias / incorrect matters inside.
again, not being hypocritical. If you ask me to choose a job that I can be rich, I'll prob say I'll go into engineering, in terms of salary + work load.
*OMG! was caught plagiarizing! unit failed! xD*

I just saw the news about msia lacking of doctors and they are opening up more med schools in future, eg. UTAR. Wondering if its a plausible decision. We're lacking of lecturers right? I mean experienced ones.
