Conversion Audio Encoding Software, Encoding MP3 to a lower bitrate

Anyone knows of any good,free software for me to encode my mp3 to a lower bitrate to put in my phone.Usually i go for 32kbps...tried DBPoweramp but it doesnt work for me....

I don't convert any audio files.
For your case, open your MP3 file that you want to convert in Adobe Audition and then you save it to a new file with the settings you desired.

audacity, free audio editor. u can export audio file to mp3 format but u need to download LAME (encoder) 1st

audacity is one of the best sound editing freeware. the quality is as good as the paid ones  . ya you can do it via lame encoder.

u can use dbpoweramp to convert mp3 to lower bitrate..

I second to djdevan's recommendation. I use that too. wave<->mp3 doesn't seem the problem with that software  remember to convert to wave (mono), then convert to mp3 and the file size will decrease

Use DietMP3, no need to convert to wave Straight away on the fly

lame 3.97 encoder, get the gui,etc downsample to 22khz
|
