Got the OTA update notification to B563.

Is it buggy? How about battery life performance?

U r one which firmware version now bro?
*
Now still at B211. Never root and stick to official OTA.

If i want to update, need to do at home though. 2.1GB size.

Any B563 users can give feedback here?

just received the b563 update via ota...observing the battery life now... but the ui a lot smoother than b211 . a lot of apps can't use because of nougat 7.0 but main and popular app still can be used.
*
UI is alot smoother imo as well but battery seems like draining a little faster (but I think Facebook is the culprit here)

Guess need to find out what's new.

Glad that Huawei made good of their promises.

Seems like so far I do not read any complains on B585 here.

Guess will update in a few more days when I am free if no further issues arise.

Just updated. Do not see the option on hotlink. Guess Maxis does not support VOLTE.

where to remove the google acc
*
Based on latest firmware in Huawei Mate 8 that I use now:

Settings -> Accounts -> Google -> (Select google account) -> At the bottom there is a remove button with the dustbin icon. Click on that and a prompt will appear asking you if you really want to delete.

Hope that helps.

any good shop for repair?

my wife mate 8 seems the volume button is a gonee, SC  qoute "back cover with side keys" 300+
*
300+ for back cover and side keys? That is expensive... And how the side keys got lost???

QUOTE(wwoosy @ Aug 10 2017, 09:10 AM)
Found this cheap price of new imported Mate 8 at 11street . Anyone bought from them?
*
I usually avoid imported set as I do not want to deal with problematic warranties claim later. Although Mate 8 is out of production by now, I wonder if one buys a new original set, will the warranty be active?

Not bad that this phone still receives update despite it is more than a year model.

Mostly a security patch update though. Will update later once I recharge my phone.

Anyone facing issues so far?

Hi mate. Im buying back mate 8. After all its chinese version. Possible to flash the firmware to malaysia/global version? Or will it have any problem?
*
Why not get the Malaysia version? I am unsure if the Malaysia model and the Chinese model uses the same firmware type. I do know that Mate 8 have different kind of firmware for different model. Malaysia Mate 8 model is NXT-L29.

will huawei update mate 8 to oreo?
*
Doubt so. They already gave us Nougat upgrade from Marshmallow. If they do support Oreo upgrade then I will stick to Huawei forever lol rclxms.gif .

I think my mate 8 have slightly swollen. perhaps the battery start to swell? have anyone exp this?

the battery working fine, with heavy use can last up to 8 hours, idle with light use a whole day..should i change the battery at the sc?
*
If you think the battery is swollen, then definitely yes.

Before I used this phone, I was using Sony Xperia Z1 and one day suddenly the screen cracked at a corner and I thought I knocked it somewhere so I go and replaced it. However 2 weeks later and the same crack happened at the same location. That time I realized the battery is very likely swollen and put a pressure on the screen glass.

For my Huawei Mate 8, I did not noticed any swollen yet though.

New version available for update now B594, could it be Oreo update?
*
Just updated to the new version.

It is just a security update as I expected. Seeing the size is about ~470MB which is quite small for a major update like Oreo.

I believe this update is to mitigate the Meltdown & Spectre issue.

Btw, this update contains Android December 2017 security patches.

Did anyone of you suffer battery issue? I get random shutdown from 20% - 30% and yesterday it got worst. Shutdown at 70%.

Huawei SC ran out of battery replacement since Dec 2017.
*
So far i did not observe the issue that you saw. I still managed to drain the battery down to around 15% last night and charge it up.

Did you see this issue with the latest update that was rolled out recently?

Any improvement you noticed on this update. What really is the impact of this Meltdown & Spectre virus
*
I don't see any difference performance wise.

Nowadays I do not track closely the battery drain as long as I can get 2-3 days usage in 1 charge. I am not a heavy user and most of the time my phone is idling.

Hi guyssss,

Any recommended Screen Replacement contact?

Just cracked the whole of my mate 8 screen few days ago cry.gif

can barely read through
*
The Huawei Service center does not provide any replacement service?

Not sure if the parts are still easily available as the phone is now 3 generations behind Mate 20...

Anyone faces battery / charging issue?

I've just replaced my battery recently, yet still very difficult to charge my phone.

I can only charge it with powerbank.

And when I charge it, it will disconnect from charging by itself
*
My battery is still fine but can see the charging time is much slower. The other issue I have is a slightly loose micro USB connection. I sometimes see the phone exit-reenter charging mode when I move the phone around when it is charging.

Guess I have to upgrade soon as it is reaching 3 years in a few months time.
