Thanks. I'm not so sure that background running apps would cause the battery drop in a short period that u mentioned earlier. My observation is most probably battery problem as view back the battery usage detail, there is some how battery usage curve does not form as it used to be. It often showed gap down I.e from 48% to 0% within 3minutes call. I guess background apps would not able to do so.(I'm not IT savvy either).

my battery having issue after traveling and heavy usage of gps together with powerbank for fews days.

encounter phone battery drop faster when left 20%, after use a while direct drop to 10%.

i uninstall un use apps , clear cache/data maps, fb, wechat/whatsapp etc.
yesterday when battery left 17%, i play clash royale for a match bout 3min, battery drop to 8%, and when i play 2nd match, jus few second i c battery is at 4%, and 2 sec later shutdown.

my friend was shock also and suspect battery faulty. but when fully charge it can last until i off work around 5 o 6pm. but battery drop faster than be4.

any advise?

U have the same problem as mine,
I just did my battery change, I can obviously see the original battery thickened compare to a new one. The repair guy told me that if the battery keep thickened for longer time, it may push against the screen and may crack it. It is worth to take phone for a check up. Lol.

Your phone battery will die faster if you keep using it while charging at the same time. Using gps with 4g and fast charging? Even worst.

hw mch u change ur battery? i youtube c hw thy change, is nt too complicated but i don hav the tools to change and thoes battery that sold on lelong dono good o nt, some is rm49.9 with 3 months warranty and 89.9 with 1 year warranty and thy all looks the same to me. LOL

I saw Lazada selling 75 for a battery with tools. U may try that one though.
I'm not sure using while charging is the cause for spoilt battery, but over charging through the night definitely is. Checkout ifixit.com before u do it ya. Lol.

rm90 is ok for that price, i thought u replace at service center. maybe i try ask SC hw mch 1st, wanna try on factory reset 1st then c hows wat it

Latest update B589 is already here!!! But it fix nothing based on the update log.

Not bad that this phone still receives update despite it is more than a year model.

Mostly a security patch update though. Will update later once I recharge my phone.

Anyone facing issues so far?

Was the previous firmware also EMUI 5.0.1. The new update shows EMUI 5.0.1 and I am unsure if it was already that version before.

Its battery problem. I had the same issue. Changed it at ss15 Subang Jaya shop. RM90 only and working fine now.

my phone consumption during standby is high even i use ultra power saving mode. Google Play Services & Phone Idle is among top 3 list. I check back my battery usage on EMUI 4, this 2 item usage is very low. Mean that when phone is more on standby, google play services is running in background.

Any tricks to fix this google play services issue or the new update have solved thi issue?

Hi mate. Im buying back mate 8. After all its chinese version. Possible to flash the firmware to malaysia/global version? Or will it have any problem?
