Need to get a everyday work type of laptop for my mum. She's not tech savy so I expect the usual word, chrome, firefox usage. Nothing TOO taxing I think, though she does have the bad habit of opening multiple firefox windows and just leaving it.

Extra requirement: Needs to be as light as possible.

1. Preferred brand : ASUS (because apparently my mum thinks DELL is cheap?)
2. Budget : Under RM 2k
3. Usage : Everyday office work, at most web browsing and watching movie at the same time I suspect.
4. Screen Size : Over 15". Any resolution, but I want to aim for 1080p

avoid AMD, with that Price range, you can intel i5 processor already,

AMD A9 is complete with intel i 3 range, yet, its lost on core task feature and also hyper thread, furthermore, the i3 processor have benefit from 4 thread , with 17.8% faster in synthetic tests

What, the ASUS for 2k? I have not seen an ASUS for 2k sporting a i5 tho

Noob, did i said that ? from which paragraph or words i mentioned you can get a Asus laptop with i5 processor with 2k ?

i only mentioned at that range, you shall avoid AMD-A9.

I'm not saying that you said that. But you mentioned that I can get an i5 for that price range, but as the three models I listed have different ranges, I wanted to clarify which of the three prices did you mean.
I'm not saying that you are telling me that a ASUS with an i5 goes for 2k. It's just that I previously mentioned looking for an ASUS, and you telling me that I can get an i5 for 2k, makes me ask lah if I can get an ASUS for 2k with an i5. No need to be so dismissive of the whole thing.
