Hi guys,

1. Preferred brand : Lenovo/ Asus
2. Budget : Max 3k
3. Usage : Internet surfing, office task, streaming, google docs etc
4. Screen Size : Any / touchscreen
5. Processor: i3/ i5
6. Operating system: Windows 10
5. Graphics : Intel
6. dvd\cd tray: good to have
7. Memory : 4gb/8gb ddr4
8. Storage: SSD
8.4. Preferred - light , long battery life, good heat dissipation

I am considering to get Lenovo Miix 510 with i3 processor as I stumbled upon the net and found that I can get it at around 2.6k. Given with my usage condition, i think i3 may be sufficient for me but I am worried if it will slow down in near future. Another concern of mine is that this i3 package comes with 4gb ddr3 instead of ddr4. Does this different impact substantially on the laptop performance?

Other than my abovesaid model, I hope to know if there are any other recommendations out there that will be a good fit for me.

This I can agree with, especially when the NVMe SSD on my Miix 510 (especially my new 512GB Samsung PM961) is so blardy fast it's almost not funny any more. It starts from a bloody cold boot faster than my HDD lappy resumes from sleep lol.

Always thought it was just hype really, until now.

That said, Win 10 starts very quick really, even on a spinner. Try comparing a Win 7 cold boot with a Win 10 one and you'll see what I mean.

piecesofme For the 510 i3, I don't think so. Most 2-in-1s still use DDR3 anyway. You're gonna see a whole lot more difference due to the AMOUNT of RAM rather than TYPE at least on the user experience level.

Hi Eiraku ,

Lenovo singapore shows the specs of Miix510 with ddr4 but of course their selling price is like $400 higher than the one i saw with ddr3 at around rm 2.6K.
Just wondering if i can get the same specs here in Msia.

Unfortunately, I don't think so. Lenovo only supplies 3 spec levels to Malaysia IINM (total of 6 SKUs with 2 colours each). Anything else is most prolly a grey import.

Plus, with that much difference better just get the i5/8GB bro, really. Not THAT much battery impact and much better performance anyway.

Also i5 ver comes pen included + 2 years warranty. IINM the i3 version doesn't come with the pen and is only warrantied for 1 year.

The i5 will exceed my budget though
