hello laptop sifu, I would like to ask some questions regarding the dell new inspiron 15" gaming laptop,
1) Between the 7th gen i5 and i7 processor, will they affect both the graphic card(1050/1050ti)(bottleneck?) and gaming performance(fps, etc.)? If so, is it significant?
2) For both desktop and laptop, If I were to play current gen games somewhere at mid to high settings, will 8gb of ram be enough or is 16gb the current standard? (Since battlefield 1 multiplayer can take up to 8gb ram, along with some windows 10 stuff running at the background) Also, since the 1050ti comes with 4gb of vram, hence 8gb of ram would be sufficient?
3) Since the website claims that consumer can upgrade the ram, and I assume that that will cost an additional RM800 (correct me if I'm wrong), will it be more worth it to go for the 5k option than the 4k + 800 option?
4) Overall, bang per buck wise, would you recommend people to go for the the new 1050 option than the previous 960m option?

QUOTE(myway1985 @ Jan 18 2017, 08:30 AM) 1. Kabylake won't HV much different in gaming in laptop... Price ratio is not worth to look at it... The concern now lies in the graphics card.. 2. Battlefield 1 wif 8gb is painful..16gb better.. 3. 8gb ddr4 Laptop ram selling around rm270 4. So far dun see any difference wif 1050 vs 960m.. should wait for the 1050ti version n see But according to previous record... Sacrifice 10fps n safe money better Alright, thanks for your feedback.

No significant gaming performance gain for i7 vs i5. 2. Just add 8GB 2400MHz ram(250-300) + default 4GB is good enough for most gamers. Ask the shop to upgrade & save the trouble. 3. Insp 7567@3999 is more worth it with GTX1050Ti=GTX970m. 4. GTX960m is not worth it vs GTX1050. ROG FX502VM@4799 with GTX1060(3GB)>GTX980m is the best bang for the buck. Insp 15-7567 retail variants arrive already, Dell website have some pricing errors. Check out with Dell authorised resellers. Price quoted is rsp, nego with them. | Model | Spec | Spec | rsp incl. u can also consider below laptop. The best bang for the buck for budget gamers: GTX1060(3GB) > GTX980m > GTX1050Ti=GTX970m > GTX965m Ti > GTX1050 > GTX965m > GTX960m Check out latest laptop : https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3753380| Model | Spec | Spec | rsp incl. wah, thank you thank you, so detailed. did checked out the new 7567 with the odd pricing on their website. never thought of of just getting the 4gb one and add 8gb to it do you have a link to the ROG FX502VM-DM145T model? The Asus's ROG website shows that it doesn't have any graphics card, or the one with 1060 haven't release? Also, does it have some customization option to it? wanna change 1tb to 500gb + ssd. 1060 base model so cheap? cheaper than 7567 top spec model?

QUOTE(ytlay @ Jan 20 2017, 12:49 AM) Local Asus website always slow as usual, refer global website for info. u can upgrade ram/SSD urself or ask the shop to do it. https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/FX502VM/FX502VM is the stripped down version of GL502VM, refer here for comparision. https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3753380/+1321Based on one of the reply, looks like there is cooling issue? Or have to wait for further review?
