To choose the best card for cashback, you also need to consider what will be your monthly average spend on credit card.Credit Cards Recommendation for Credit Cards V4, Please post according to Format stated

QUOTE(nasi lemak ayam goreng @ Dec 31 2017, 02:36 PM) Hi everyone, look forward to all your suggestions. My profile is similar to yours and I carry the following with the purposes of maximising cash back:1. Annual Income: RM180K and above 2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Don't mind. (would be nice though) 3. Card required for: In order of importance, 1. Petrol/Groceries/Dining daily use 2. AirMiles/Hotel/Overseas Transactions 3. Lounge Access 4. Existing credit cards (if any): Nil 5. Interested in CC from: Any Bank. 6. Others: Please be specific. Example: I am looking to leverage CC to get more value out of my spending. I would not mind having multiple CCs to complement the type of spending needed. Hong Leong Wise Gold - Dining and Travel category, max cashback 100/mth. Maybank AMEX Duo Platinum - Weekend spending, max cashback 50/mth and 5X Treat Points. This is my preferred card. Standard Chartered Just One Platinum - Petrol and Online, max cashback 85/mth. Public Bank Visa Signature - Groceries and Online, max cashback 50/mth. CIMB World Mastercard - Free golf green fees a few times a year if lucky. Will probably apply UOB Yolo (cashback 50/mth) because the new 2018 terms is more friendly to achieve. For Wise card, I purposely downgrade to Gold card to save annual fee which cannot be waived. Also I got the wife to apply one herself (not supplementary) and select other categories to get another 100 cashback. Usually, I find the SCB card is the hardest to hit the minimum spending of 2500 if I don't buy anything online that month. Most months, can get the full cashback of 385 on around 10K credit card spend which works out to a 4% discount (once you factor in the card rewards points value). |

UOB YOLO - 8% PBE VS - 6% MBB Amex - 5% HLB WISE GOLD - 5% SCB JustOne Plat - 3.4% Citi Cash back - 3.3% RHB WMC - 2.6% |

QUOTE(cryzord @ Sep 20 2018, 05:39 PM) 1. Annual Income: See my above reply on achieving 5% return. If you are travelling internationally and spending significantly, then I suggest you switch to airmiles conversion strategy because cards like MBB AMEX Reserve and Visa Infinite provide 5X treat points for overseas spending. After conversion to airmiles, the value of airfare saved can allow you to achieve effectively over 10% return on spending.2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes 3. Card required for: Mainly = Petrol (Shell), Tough N Go, Hotels (via. Booking.com) - i travel extensively. Secondary = Monthly Insurance, Phone bills, Dining, Online purchases. 4. Existing credit cards (if any): Cimb visa infinite, Cimb world master, both Supp. 5. Interested in CC from: Open to any. 6. Others: Wanna look for a CC that offers good cash back/rebates for above spending. Thinking of cancelling either one or both the existing cimb cc since they are supp. Thanks for input. |

QUOTE(tarvalslain87 @ Sep 20 2018, 06:34 PM) Ah okay. Im not spending much monthly. Maybe at most about 2K-3K from all of my CC. Yup. Hong Leong wise will be the most difficult for you as there is a 2000 minimum spend to get that 100 cashback. So you will need some planning and tracking. I suggest also get the PB Quantum cards together with Visa Signature. For months where you expect your spending will be low, then better not to use HL Wise and use the PB Quantum instead. As per your recommendation, what I understand is that 1. For grocery, i can choose either PB or MBB. 2. For petrol is from MBB Amex 3. For dining is either PB or HL As for Airmiles, I can stick with my Premier Miles? Sorry if i got it wrong charlesj recommendations is also spot on. However, I think those cards are more suitable for those who travel frequently especially internationally where the benefit of lounge access and foreign payment card incentives can be realised. Which ones are better for you will depend on your personal situation. My suggestion is not to mix strategy. If you don't have such lifestyle and spending, then I suggest to forget about airmiles and lounges. 5% cash on credit card spending is already a good achievement as it is. At your spending level, aim for myr100 cashback each month. Then save it up to pay for a simple holiday once a year. |

QUOTE(mt24 @ Sep 28 2018, 09:11 AM) Question to all cards expert here. Of the 3, I would keep the MBB visa infinite. Overall best points conversion.I hv mbb visa infinite, mbb visa platinum, and stanchart worldmiles. Because of the current service charge, I am thinking if to terminate 2 of them and left only one card. Which card shud i keep? Utmost important is access to premium lounge and points rewards. |

QUOTE(CrispyNugget @ Jan 21 2019, 10:47 PM) Good evening guys. I would like to apply for a CC (my 1st CC). I need help/recommendations from otais 😂 I would suggest PB Quantum would be easiest to manage for you.1. Annual Income: RM36K to RM48K 2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must 3. Card required for: Pay my bills (Digi postpaid-no contract, ptptn loan), petrols, shopping online? 4. Existing credit cards (if any): Nill 5. Interested in CC from: Currently in mind from Maybank 6. Others: My maybank account is my only main account. My salary, saving, transactions, all from Maybank. I tried to apply maybank CC before, but got rejected due to outstanding ptptn. I've paid all the outstanding amount (September 2018) and pay on time starting october 2018 until now (verified by ccris report). I want to apply maybank CC because i want to control my cash flow and use the ez installment facility 0% (lazada/shoppe) to buy tv, washing machine and refrigerator/etc for the 1st time. When should i try to reapply the CC from Maybank? Maybank have offered me to FD 5k for a CC CL 5k, but I've turned the offer down because i dont want to use my emergency fund. Ptptn is the only loan that i have (RM 157/month). Started working on April 2018. Thank you very much. |

QUOTE(adamidon @ May 16 2019, 03:25 PM) 1. Annual Income: RM36K to RM60K Bro. Credit card is one of the most expensive forms of borrowing. Make sure to pay in full every month. In your scenario, I suggest you treat the credit card as a method of payment that is convenient. No need to carry so much cash or coins. Think of it as cash. Make sure anything you spend on it, that you have the cash coming end of month to pay it off in full.2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferably 3. Card required for: Small stuffs. 4. Existing credit cards (if any): Nil 5. Interested in CC from: Maybank 6. Others: I'm a 27 y/o guy planning to get married at the end of this year and I have been committed in saving a fixed portion of my salary for that purpose every month. With commitment for car, internet, rent, utilities and giving some money for my family, that basically leaves me with very little to spend for things that I want. Just some small stuffs. Maybe for buying parts to repair my laptop, some gifts for my family for hari raya, wedding gifts for my wife-to-be (hantaran), and if possible a new phone since the current one is having problem. So to sum it up, I wanted this credit card to just prevent me from using a large sum of money in one go, but instead I can spread the payment to monthly commitment. Let's say I used it up to rm 3k, from my understanding, the minimum payment is around 5%, so I can just pay 150 for that amount. I'm a total newbie in this kind of thing, so is my understanding correct? Will there be other monthly or annual charges that I have to take into account? I'm looking into Maybank VISA Ikhwan that have petrol cash back at Petronas, but still open to suggestions. |

QUOTE(kuehsm_91 @ Jun 29 2019, 09:26 PM) 1. Annual Income: RM66k Based on your CC spending of around 1500 to 2000 each month, I would suggest the following.2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must or waive-able with swipes 3. Card required for: Petrol RM350, Cash Back/Rebate (shopping 1-2k), Points that can be converted back to money whichever is more, Free LCCT Lounge Access (desirable) 4. Existing credit cards (if any): plan to terminate less useful cards 5. Interested in CC from: heard people recommend amex and ambank bonuslink 6. Others: Please be specific. Example: I am a Sarawakian. Difficult to determine the cashback efficiency here. I pay bill thru top up Sarawak Pay and Boost e-wallet. How many cards to keep? PBE Visa signature. 6% earn rate capped at 38 with 2X lounge access annually. I think top up e-wallets online can be considered as online category spending - please check. Then Maybank 2Card Platinum AMEX for 5% earn rate on weekends capped at 50. Pump petrol on weekends at places like Shell, BHP which accept AMEX. |
