Hi pls advise - i have tried to apply for a few credit card every 3-4 months over the past 2 years but failed. Have applied for Maybank, RHB, UOB, HSBC, Citi, Aeon Credit. Sales agent said maybe commitment too high. Have 1 housing loan own name, and 1 more joint housing loan (but serviced in full by joint loan applicant) and 1 ASB loan. I checked CTOS my credit score is 692/850. I currently have a HL credit card which i pay in full every month - the limit is RM5k and applied to increase it before but not successful. Monthly spend around RM3k-5k so quite leceh sometimes midway through the month i have to settle my unbilled outstanding first then only can continue using the card. I also have a maybank supplementary card but i dont use unless for emergencies.

1. Annual Income: RM120k (basic) or RM180k (including bonuses)

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferable but not necessary

3. Card required for: RM2-3k online (grab, foodpanda, shopee/lazada, netflix), RM1.5k bills (utilities, unifi, insurance), RM1k retail & f&b

4. Existing credit cards (if any): HL (main), Maybank (supplementary)

5. Interested in CC from: Any

6. Others:

Which is the best credit card for using with Grab (food/car) and Foodpanda? Either in terms of cashback or rewards points multiplier.

Hi everyone, just to update i managed to get credit card after applying with StanChart (Visa Platinum). Maybe those who can't get from other banks can try them. Only thing is the credit limit is a bit low - around 1x monthly net salary.

1. Annual Income: RM200k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Free lifetime or waived through number of swipes

3. Card required for: Maybank 0% installment, backup card

4. Existing credit cards (if any): StanChart Visa Platinum, Maybank Shopee

5. Interested in CC from: Maybank (i find more merchants accept 0% installment and can get up to 36 months repayment)

6. Others: Looking to replace my Maybank Shopee card since i dont shop online much compared to pandemic era. My monthly spending on that card is around RM2-3k. Unsure whether prefer cashback and points card.

Thanks

Im looking for a credit card that can give me higher credit limit by 3-8x of my monthly income.

I cant decide between Ambank Infinite and Hong Leong Infinite, which one should I pick?

Or is there other credit card you guys can recommend?

Annual Income: 150k-200k
Current: Maybank Platinum Visa and Amex
Prefer annual fee waived forever

Maybank refused to increase my credit limit so Im searching for elsewhere

My SC Visa Platinum limit is 4x monthly income. Was 2x when applied, then later on they sent SMS offering to increase it to 4x.

1. Annual Income: >RM200k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes or can waive with spending/swipes

3. Card required for: Cashback on utilities/phone bills/grab food... or cashback card that have high RM cashback ceiling without many diff categories

4. Existing credit cards (if any):
RHB Visa Cashback (using this for utilities/groceries/grab food, but too many categories and only RM10 cashback per category) - willing to cancel if can find something better
CIMB Petronas Visa Infinite (for petrol/cigarettes and dining) - something like this card for utilities/phone/grab food would be great
Maybank Ikhwan Amex Platinum (for shopee/spaylater)
Maybank 2 Premier - planning to cancel this before my next card anniversary date

5. Interested in CC from: Open to any... Polished bank app would be a plus, my prev experience using Stan Chart app felt very clunky.

Edit: Monthly credit card spending usually around RM8-10k per month (excluding occasional/emergency spending). CIMB card requires RM4k min monthly spend, Maybank Amex requires around RM600+ spend to get full cashback, so roughly have around another RM4k spend to use on another card.

Thanks

Quite interesting. Does online count as contactless? or need to tap at terminal?

Downgrade your MBB 2C to Platinum, then for the Amex (5% cb cap at RM50 for weekend spend) you can do utilities / phone bills > POS Online > Spaylater > Amex (just pay early on weekend).

For card that don't have many diff categories, can consider Affin DUO+ (just activate Visa), 3% cb cap at RM50 for any contactless (wave at terminal without pin) spend.

Or Bank Islam Visa Platinum, 3% cb cap at RM30 for any spend on online (eg grab) / auto-bill / groceries / dining each calendar month, min spend RM500 per calendar month.

Yes I think M2P will be my fall back option, can use across categories and only limitation is weekend which is quite easy to do. would be great if they just allowed the amex card without the visa card.

only problem I've been having with spaylater recently is when I scan merchants QR it doesn't allow me to pay with spaylater anymore (last time can), only option is shopee wallet.
