Hi, guys.
Newbie in CC here but it seems the convenient and benefits is something good to have.
Help me.
Below is my info.

1. Annual Income: RM36K to RM60K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: List all your needs. Bills, restaurants, movies, online local and foreign purchase, local and foreign offline purchase, 0% installment plan to purchase furniture and electronics*, flights, hotels,

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Nil (But actively using PBB Debit and MBB Debit)

5. Interested in CC from: Maybank, but I'm too new to justify. Feel free to recommends others.

6. Others: *Real reason I suddenly thinking to get a CC is to purchase expensive electronics like camera, lens, computers, at 0% installment plan for my freelance work. Paying cash RM10K for a camera body or a Macbook Pro is a bad cash flow in my point of view. But still needed to purchase these items to earn. Other than that, I'll have frequent flight to outside Malaysia. Might as well collect some points with that?

1. Annual Income: N/A (is deciding between 2 cards below).

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: PTPTN lump sum payment, GSC/TGV cinema via app, online purchases

4. Existing credit cards: MBB Ikhwan Mastercard

5. Interested in CC from: CIMB cash rebate & PBB Quantum

Note:
- Both of the above option has online cashback 5% which i'm interested in
- I don't use petrol.
- Has savings acc in CIMB, not PBB (so probably easier to apply on CIMB)
- Wondering which card is more beneficial overall?

PBB Quantum MC & CIMB CR MasterCard Both come with Same 5% Cash Back for Online transactions, capped at RM30 per monthly statement cycle equivalent to RM600 spend.

But however, CIMB CR WON'T earn YOU any Cash back from Flight Ticket Purchase or PTPTN (government related transaction) plus, they Charge Cross Border transaction fees. sweat.gif
Note: Cross Border Fee - charged to a merchant when a customer uses a credit card as payment for purchases or services from an issuing bank not located in the same country as the merchant's processing account.

As for PBB Quantum MC, you can earn CB on PTPTN Payment, buying flight ticket the best part's PBB Doesn't charge any Cross Border Fee like CIMB thumbup.gif

Also, Why not cosinder Apply or Convert to Maybank 2 Cards is more Practical use, Since You are not much Utilized Your MBB Ikhwan MC: Petrol & Groceries

MBB VI or MBB 2 card Premier (VI + Amex Reserve) are pure miles play card

MBB are very strict with min. spending per annum to waive the annual fee of RM800

The VI in both are same, just that 2 premier come with another Amex Reserve card

VI - 50k per annum

2Premier - 80k per annum

Advantage of M2Premier
VI - 2x TP local spending, 5x TP oversea spending
Amex Reserve - 5x TP on any spending

with 5x TP, it translate to 1 mile per RM 0.954 spending

Issue with Ambank is that local spending & online transaction in foreign currency only earn 1x pts while oversea physical transaction it has similar to MBB earn rate. Other plus points with Ambank

1. PPL unlimited access
2. arguably better exchange rate than MBB

comparing MBB vs Ambank VI, Ambank offers no condition FREE annual fee and unlimited PPL access across a few other countries as well.
I don't know of any 'faster' way to apply besides the normal way.

It looks like there is not much incentive to spend with the Ambank VI card. Not bad if they give it free for life with unlimited PPL access including supp cardholders.

I have big spending coming up and I think I might be spending 50k this year. MBB VI seems to give better rewards for this spend and I can get another year free. After that I think I will just cancel if I can't waive the fees.

1. Annual Income: RM90K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: Other transactions. I already have cc for petrol, groceries, online, dining, departmental store, entertainment which I think are adequate. I prefer cashback but a good reward programme is OK too.

4. Existing credit cards (if any): PBB Quantum, MBB Ikhwan, MBB Ikhwan Petronas

5. Interested in CC from: Open for suggestions.

6. Others: Please be specific. I have applied for MBB Amex Duo but rejected. Probably because I already have two cards with them (Ikhwans).
