My current strategies / card prioritization as below:

1) RHB Shell - to Max spending requirement rm2.5 monthly - CB RM50+RM50

2) UOB One Classic - to Max RM500 spending on Petrol/Groceries/Dining/Grab - CB RM40++

3) If that month spend more, use MBB Ikhwan Mastercard for Groceries / Petrol (Friday & Saturday only).

4) If that month spend more (ONLINE), use MBB Ikhwan Amex for Shopee / ShopeePay / Agoda /Lazada.

Other cards

a) HSBC Amanah - use for beli tilam monthly installment.
T&C mention: Annual fee RM240 primary card, waived when you do 1x swipe once a month for 12 consecutive months, and meet annual spending of RM2,000
Just curious, is the monthly installment will meet the requirement 1x swipe per month?

b) Planning to cancel SC simple (cs already refund the annual fee + sst after request to cancel the card) & SC Visa Platinum.

QUOTE(ideaplus @ Sep 26 2024, 07:11 PM)
1. Annual Income: RM110K+

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferably, can consider waiver with minimum swipe

3. Card required for:
E-wallet reload, depends on the situation
Petrol, RM300-700
Groceries, around RM300-500
Utility bill (TNB/SAJ/Unifi), around RM800-900
Online shopping (Lazada/Shopee), depends on the situation

4. Existing credit cards (if any):
Ambank Bonuslink Visa Signature = for Petrol as I pump lots of Shell
Ambank Visa Signature = no AF, and lounge access, then keep for telco monthly subscription
RHB Visa Signature = no AF, and this card has the highest CL and lounge access, so keep it for emergency purposes
SCB Simply Cash = apply due to gift
SCB Journey = apply due to gift
MBI Ikhwan A-Mex = 8% CB of online purchase
Affin Duo = Auto debit for insurance (RM1100++ per month)

5. Interested in CC from:
MBB 2 Platinum (But rejected due to MBI Ikhwan just approved within 1 month),
Affin Duo+ (just submit the additional card application)
Public Visa Signature
UOB Prvi Miles Elite
Alliance Visa Infinite
Is there any other good CC? Cashback is preferred, else collect miles also can, that's why I listed out UOB Prvi Miles Elite and Alliance Visa Infinite

6. Others:
if can include insurance better, as my insurance is around RM1800/month, and I already maximize the 3% of Affin Duo
I don't mind using multiple cards to achieve the highest CB or miles collection, as i understood there is no best CC in the market

Does applying 2 bank cc at the same time affect approval rate?

it depends, if u applying for 1st cc and both rejected, surely will affect.

if u already have existing cc should be ok, maybe both will get approved.

Hi All,
Seeking advice for everyone about virtual credit card, for my subscription of google cloud, google playstore, apple store.etc, to avoid any overcharge issue and control the kids spending. Importantly the vcc can be set the limit to min. and freeze if there is any problem, I understand there are wise, alliance, mae, bigpay....etc, around, but which vcc is fit to my expectation with lower cost maintenance annually. Thanks for your advice and command in advance.

maybank 2 cards, no annual fee, easy easy to maintain. but service tax RM25 each, so need to pay RM50 per year. if want to jimat, apply maybank ikhwan gold card, buy grocery get 5% cashback.

you can try applying online but they are known to easily reject people who apply online based on feedback on this forum. i think maybank filtering criteria too strict for their online.

RHB Shell Visa 12% and Stan Chart SimplyCash (but need to spend 2.5k a month).

Shell Visa 12% is better because it is in addition to their 'normal' RM50 cap cashback, so can earn up to RM100 a month. Stan Chart SimplyCash is cap at RM20 for petrol, the need another RM20 for online/ewallet and another RM20 for dining/groceries. Max you can get is RM60, with a stupid manual claim in batches of RM30 method.

There is no minimum spending requirement, but Cash Back will be awarded only when the accumulated Cash Back amount from respective corresponding transaction is not less than RM1.00.

From the MCC thread, I see that AirAsia is under MCC 4511. I guess should be similar for the other airlines hmm.gif

Also see this MCC range of 3000 - 3301 for airlines under AmBank's website.

3000 series MCC are dedicated for very big chain airlines or hotel and even car rentals.

mostly i see AA and Malaysia Airlines are using MCC 4511

for this, maybe you can try RHB WMC ... it has Travel category with 6% cb tier
