That is what I am thinking MBB visa infinite keep almost 90% spending and with my wife supp card spending to break the 80k pa waiver😅. In terms of benefit I see is ntg much special perhaps before annual will cut it off.

Which card you focusing in?

I'm thinking to switch back to Alliance VI as it is consider total all rounder for points from e wallet to normal spending
*
Alliance VI for me. Miles collection among the best for now.

My advice is to get all the airmiles cards in the market. That’s what I’m doing. biggrin.gif

You can consider AmEx Plat charge card too. That’s a good card.
*
What other airmiles card you have so far?

Alliance VI
UOB Privi Miles Elite
HSBC Travel
SC Journey

Am I missing out anything?

Thanks for the suggestion.
Ive signed up for MBB Ikhwan Amex.

Now for e-wallet, im torn between PB vs Ambank. Seems quite similar their perks.
Any experience?
*
PB is ahead by miles. Not even close.

1. Annual Income: RM100k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferred but not a deal breaker

3. Card required for: Cashback / Unlimited Points

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Alliance Bank Visa Signature

5. Interested in CC from:
HSBC TravelOne Credit Card
UOB PRVI Miles Card

Am deciding between these 2 travel credit cards as I do travel overseas min. 2-3 times a year. Also feel like the points more worth it than cashback.

Seeking your opinion between these 2 credit cards and/or any better credit card that can recommend?
*
UOB PRVI Miles Elite should be your best bet I guess. Forget about HSBC credit cards, their miles conversion is quite bad.

Hi, would need advice on best card to dump remaining expenditure.

Currently have:
1. PBB Visa -i and AMB True for online/ewallet cashback
2. RHB Visa Inf just for CashXcess
3. OCBC Titanium just to fulfill 360 account criteria
4. CIMB Visa Inf Petronas -i for groceries, petrol, dining, oversea spending if monthly spending is >RM1500

Thinking of getting a card that can cover for #4 above when monthly spending is below 1500 for those categories, and the rest of the expenditure that doesn't fall to any of the cards above, like car insurance/house assessment/other retail purchases.

Preferably cashback (since i went deep into cashback route), but point is fine as well. Thanks in advance biggrin.gif
*
No.1 is good you can use it to reload ewallet, and spend using ewallet.

Unfortunately most of the spending are now slowly going to visa/mastercard hence M2UP also becoming useless

At least the major retailers are still accepting Amex. I will still keep it for now.

any other banks got this feature?

I actually prefer SMS notification for every trx. So far the banks that I have credit card with have the option to set this kind of notification SMS, just have to call them.

3. Card required for: cash back

4. Existing credit cards (if any): HSBC T1, Revolution Visa, American Express Capitacard (All 3 are SG cards)

5. Interested in CC from: Need Recommendation in Malaysia.

6. Others: Looking for cashback, mainly paying insurance premiums, taxi (grab and other platform), mobile topup, in future will be using for buying funiture.

If for insurance I would recommend Affin Duo. But pls be mindful that you have to get both cards, and the SST is not waivable.

Oh UOB definitely isn't the greatest card, however the Prvi Miles Elite is currently the greatest for overseas/foreign currency usage spending usage.
For local spending there is no greatest, UOB definitely isn't anywhere near the top for local spending. I'd rate MBB MUVI and Alliance VI higher based on general consumers usage.
MBB VI gives a more consistent and versatile point collection of RM3.50 = 1 mile than UOB which in most case is RM4.50 to 1 mile with Zenith. You may have a lot of big ticket items that you pay via FPX, but majority use their credit cards via physical swiping/online purchases through 3rd party credit card payment vendors.
*
Is it still difficult to get the annual fee waiver for MBB MUVI? I cancelled mine some time back as they are not willing to give me waiver because I did not hit the min spend.

I see, thanks for all the valuable advice, so basically as long as I can continue to keep my budget under control, and set aside a portion for savings, overall controlling my financials well, I should get a credit card and use it occasionally for marketing / buying this and that, just to keep up the credit score ?

I plan to use credit card for petty stuff like buying daily necessities, so I make sure I don't overspent and able to pay off at the end of the month, and Debit card for the rest as usual, would this be a good arrangement ?
*
Just use your credit card like how you use your debit card. Pay off your credit card in full every month. If you are still afraid of overspending, set a credit limit that you are comfortable with.

1. Annual Income: RM100K to RM150K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: If possible, if not, can swipe 12x to get rebate also fine.

3. Card required for: Additional cashback, overseas spending with good conversion (more for AliPay purposes due to biz trip to China), flight (miles) and hotel, airport lounge access, online speding, e-wallet topup (ShopeePay)

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Maybank 2 Gold Amex, PB Visa Signature, PB Visa Platinum Islamic (benefit reduced), Affin Duo

5. Interested in CC from: No preference, any bank

6. Key Monthly Spending

Groceries 800-1000
Utilities 200
E-Wallet Topup 500-700
Dining 200-300
Misc 300-400

7. Others

Been using Maybank 2 Gold Amex and PBVS for ages (Malaysian). Mostly Amex for purchases on weekend (groceries, utilities, dining etc.) and PBVS for purchases over RM100 to maximise cashback (now usely for Shopee purchases above RM100). Amex is maxed out monthly.

PB Visa Platinum Islamic and Affin Duo Visa being used to topup Shopeepay to maximise CB. Planning to cut PBV Platinum Islamic since benefits reduced next month onwards.

Now looking CC for cashback on overseas/online spending for flights/hotel, CC with great forex rate if tied to AliPay since i have biz trips to China, flight miles and/or airport lounge access.

You do not have the mighty Maybank Ikhwan Amex?

Nope, I dont have that.

Can I have both Maybank 2 Gold Amex  and Maybank Ikhwan Amex simultaneously (after I applied for it)?
*
Yes you can but you probably need to submit fresh income document for application since they are technically two different entities (conventional vs islamic).

Hi all,

Just heard about the nerf on public bank credit cards:

I have been using the Public Islamic Bank Visa Platinum to get 4% (RM30) Cashback from Topping up RM750 ewallets . But with the nerf is now 15 for 750, is there any better cards for ewallet CB now (with no minimum payment) ?

Currently also have Affin Duo Visa.
*
You can check out ambank true visa. I personally do not own the card hence I'm unsure if they have revised the tnc since then.

No, I don't think so. The card is no longer available for new applications.
I'm not surprised if it will be revised and change to EOL product in the future. However, they have stopped application for True Visa for a year or something now.
*
Ah thanks for the update fruitie. No wonder I have not been seeing much discussion about this card for some time now.

I would suggest you to take a look at alliance visa infinite or the upcoming ambank enrich credit card.

1. Annual Income: RM200k and above

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Must, can consider waiver with minimum spend below RM36k

3. Card required for: Free Lounge Access (SG, MY + other countries), Rebate (most spend on Food, Groceries + Petrol)

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Maybank Grab Mastercard Platinum (using for Grab e-wallet top up), Ambank Visa Infinite (everything else)

5. Interested in CC from:

6. Others: I have been using the Grab Maybank card for the longest time. Got it initially when they were giving out a lot of grab points. Never really cared about other benefits, as I mostly use for credit score. Only recently started to look at the various benefits. Got the Ambank card due to the many lounge it supports, especially Singapore. Downside of this card is that it requires me to spend 1k per lounge access. Didn't get the UOB PRVI Miles Elite Card because it didn't support SG lounges. Keeping the Grab Maybank because I think that is the only card that gives me points for e-wallet reloads. I don't spend much tbh, max RM250(petrol), RM500(groceries), RM1500(food). Since my spendings are quite low, wondering if I should just focus on the Ambank card for points, or should I look at cards that can offer me cash rebate as well. Btw, I typically use Wise card for overseas spend due to the lower conversion rate.

Was recently offered the AmBank UnionPay Platinum, AmBank Cash Rebate Visa Platinum and AmBank Enrich Visa Infinite cards but don't think gonna activate any coz doesn't feel any better than the current one I already have.
*
Maybe try out HSBC CC like their VS? I think they still support SG lounges for 6 visits per year. Not many but still good.

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must or with a waiver of minimum spending

3. Card required for: Enrich Miles / Lounge Access .

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Maybank 2 cards visa infinite / amex reserve

5. Interested in CC from: Any good offer

You can take a look at Alliance Visa Infinite too. You get 8x bonus points for spending on e-commerce/ewallet. 15k = 1k enrich point conversion rate is still pretty good if you spend on those categories.

One more thing is that their bonus points do not expire, which is kinda awesome.
