Isn't the cashback even lesser compare to HLB Wise card based on RM9000/month spending?
*
Yes, Rm9000 x1% = $90 CB, HLB Wise $100.
However, RHB BZ Plat. is Lifetime Fee Waiver, HLB Wise got AF $160/$300.

OMG, you have been extremely helpful notworthy.gif

Last time I was in between UOB One and Maybank 2 cards for petrol and cash rebate, you recommend me the Maybank one instead. I am gonna apply soon, but now I am wondering for petrol and cash back, which will be better? Maybank 2 cards or this MBB Ikhwan Mastercard?

Because I worry Petron Petrol Station don't accept Amex card. I am not sure how many places actually accept Amex card.

Thank you
*
MBB 2Amex more Practical Useful becos can get CB with Anything you Purchase on Weekends, MBB Ikhwan MC Earn CB from Petrol & Groceries Only.

I am an Malaysian, can i still apply for a credit card if my source of income is from my rental of Singapore property and I have some FD with a malaysian bank?

May I know which bank can approve my application?
TQ
*
Actually, Not sure with Foreign Rental Income but Yes, they Recognize if is local Rental income.

However, if You Sign up a Premier Account with FD min RM200-500K with bank, they may give a CC.

Why not you makes a Query from the bank Which you placed Your FD, maybe they can do something for You.

Hi! Can recommend me the best CC :

1. Annual Income: RM30K to RM36K
2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must
3. Card required for: Cash Back/Rebate Only, AirMiles, Overseas Transactions, Flight tickets, if possible to pay off PTPTN loan, online shopping.
4. Existing credit cards (if any): Nil.
5. Interested in CC from: Maybank 2 Gold card, BSN Classic Visa Credit Card-i
6. Others: I'm a Malaysian working overseas. I've always been intimidated by credit cards, now i think i need one for emergencies flight tickets or just going back home for holidays. i probably won't be using the card often for things like groceries and petrol so cashback percentage is not that important to me, but it'd be nice to get them for the expensive tickets.low interest rate is very much appreciated.

P/S: is it possible to apply them fully online? without going to the bank to sign anything as i'm currently not in Malaysia.
Thanks smile.gif

QUOTE(ytan053 @ May 12 2017, 11:38 AM)
I have did an analysis on best suitable cc for insurance payment. It all depends on the (1) insurer (2) amount, (3) whether it can be paid via cc online or only auto debit option

(a) There are many insurance that you can pay online manually, i.e. Prudential (Visa/Master), AIA (Visa/Master), AXA (Visa/Master), Tokio Marine (through Maybank Amex only), Etiqa motor (Visa/ Master, not sure about Amex), HLA Insurance (Visa/ Master, not sure about Amex). I am not sure about other insurance but for Great Eastern, it can only be done via auto debit though Visa/ Master only.

(b) I would say the best cc for paying insurance for amount less than RM1,470 is Public Bank Visa Signature for insurance that you can pay online manually and not auto debit. PBVS offers max monthly RM50 for spending of RM833.33 (that is 6%). If your insurance is RM500, then u get the whole 6%. If your insurance is RM1,470, max monthly CB is RM50 which is equivalent to 3.4%.

© No.2 best cc is Maybank Amex for paying Tokio Marine insurance manually of up to RM1,000 a month to get CB of RM50 plus TP of 0.25% equivalent, meaning total CB is 5.25%. You can choose the amount yourself, unlike other insurance where you need to pay the premium in full.

(d) No.3 is HL Wise Gold (not the Platinum due to high AF) with CB @ 4.29% (if AF not waive, CB is lower now with higher AF) or 5% (if AF is waived). Refer to T&C of the card in the relevant thread. This card is good for paying insurance that either pay via online manually or auto debit. Every month, just spend Rm1,000 on the 3 categories that earns you the 10% cash back and if your insurance is around RM1,000, then you can either pay online or auto debit your insurance to this card to earn the equivalent CB. Hence max cash back is RM100 for spending of RM2,000 monthly.

(e) No. 4 is Standard Chartered Just One Platinum Card with monthly RM85 CB with insurance/ combination of insurance, petrol and online spending of RM2,500 a month, which is 3.4%CB. You can choose to pay the insurance online manually or via auto debit. This card is good to cover your insurance (one off) of up till RM13,168 where you get RM85 (equivalent to 0.65% CB).

(f) Any insurance above RM13,168, the next best card, assuming the AF for the respective CCs were waived, where you can pay your insurance online manually or via auto debit is:-
(i) OCBC World Master Card (CB of RM85.01, 0.65%)
(ii) Alliance Bank You:nique (CB of RM80.50, 0.61%)
(iii) Hong Leong Essential Card (CB of RM79.01, 0.6%)
(iv) OCBC 365 (CB of RM75, 0.54%)

*Didnt include HL Fortune in the analysis because you need to spend minimum RM2k a month to get the 1% CB, which I personally dont spend at least RM2k monthly for insurance for whole family.
*
Good Analysis... thumbup.gif

So far still acceptable, OK if u live in KL. Most of Online Store (the Ang-mo punya) eBay, Amazon, PayPal, Book Depository also Accept Amex.
U can pay your Billing with 2Amex via Maybank2U to earn CB as I also do the Same & Most of my CB are from Utilities Bill.

Actually having salary of RM24,000 p.a with PTPTN Commitment is NOT Preference for other Bank to approve you another Credit card, if they give also will come with very low CL maybe Rm3-4K only.

Anyway, you also can get 0% Installment plan up to 36 months from Seng-Heng or Seng Q with Your HLB Card.

I'm looking at the Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan Gold Card atm. Is there any other card that I should be aware of? Appreciate the responses.

Also I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask, will the credit card application be subjected to my DSR/CCRIS records? I have been paying my credit cards bills and all other relevant loans in full, but I'm worried that due to my very high DSR I'll not be able to be successful in my cc application. I just wish to get another card to fit my requirements so that I can maximise my savings.

One more question, how about the 5% cashback offered to groceries purchases and petrol under the Maybank Ikhwan cc? Are they covered by the Maybank 2 cards and PBB Quantum 2 cards? Or do I use the Maybank 2 Amex card for those transactions instead? Cause my worry is the cashback available to the Amex card 'might' only be temporary, just like how it was only reintroduced back a couple of months ago after being removed and only limited to dining on weekends earlier.  sweat.gif I'm thinking too much?
