Using mac, you won't format your computer every year... biggrin.gif
I only format when i sell my mac. Used 2011 MBP, and 2015 12inch MAcbook.

Pros:
1) Battery life, you walk around your college, or starbucks, windows users tends to bring the charger everywhere they go.
2) mouse, learn to use the trackpad, it can do everything smoothly with your trackpad. (I am mass communication students, doing video editing, photoshop and some other words assignments, never ever use a mouse.... but yeah, i bought a mouse just for gaming)
3) MacOS

Cons:
1) Expensive if you compare spec-by-spec just like how you compare androids to iPhone.
2) Sync? File transfer? AirDrop or else then a little complicated.
3) Mac aint for gaming (but i still use it to game sometimes :Dota 2)

Well, above just my own experience and suggestion.

If you can't think of a benefit of what the MacBook Pro can bring you, don't bother getting it. The newer windows laptops are also quick and fast, just make sure to get those with a fast hdd and plenty of ram. You will save more.

The beauty of Mac OS is that it comes with so many great stuff right out of the box. biggrin.gif

The question is always whether Mac OS is suitable for you.

now 13" sell for RM 7K, i don't think it's worth it.

however, i think 15" RMBP it's more worth it now. biggrin.gif

The only reason why I'm using Mac right now is because of the trackpad. That's all.
Mobility I have the Macbook Air.
But come home sweet home the monstrous desktop PC is still the best. smile.gif

I think the MacBook Pro is worth the money because of the super long battery life. I spent most of my time on report typing and for me the keyboard and the trackpad is so damn comfortable.

My recommendation is to get the 2015 version of the MacBook Pro because they still have the USB Type-A style. 2016 one they use Type C and most probably you're gonna spend more money buying the dongle. The minimum increase in power also doesn't justified the cost. You're better off with the 2015 version

With the new Kaby Lake processors announced at CES, we should be expecting that the new Macbook Pro's to be using them which would give them a speed increase. If you aren't that in a hurry, why not wait for them?

Kaby lake is quite worthwhile to wait as it comes with rather significant upgrade for CPU speed and graphic from Skylake comparing to Skylake from Broadwell.

Don't think it's fair to say like this
Ts need to try 1st in order to know whether it suits him or not.
PS: not try few mins in applestore ya

If u are not rush u can always buy a used macbook to try
Then sell away to get a brand new unit afterward.

Btw I think Mac is good but spending 7k I'm not sure.

I say it that way because there are many options available out there and if a person in his/her own heart can't justify why they want to get a Mac, deep down they will find a lot of insecurities about their purchase. I am trying to save TS that heartache. Because psychologically, if TS is deliberating because of the price, then I would definitely say that the current MacBook Pro takes a lot to justify it's price tag and I for one can't do that. And this is me coming from a super Apple fan, I have 4 Macs at home (Macbook Air, Macbook 12, Macbook Pro 15" and a Mac Mini) as well as 3 iphones and 3 ipads.

The battery sucks on the 2016 version. Better wait on the 2017 version with Kaby Lake. If you have easy access to plug points most of the time then it shouldn't be a concern though and can just get it now.

When i used to have Winblows. I changed machines - custom built ones every 2-3 years, it usually cost more than a Mac putting together a machine with fast and good PC parts, Then i go into HackinTosh, soon enough migrated to OSX the next year. Guess what, Not only a mac machine is cheaper, since i don't change a mac that often. In a long run, i save money more than the stupid and slow as Winblows.

Answer to your questions. Mac hardware gets bit slower in time as well, but not progress and noticeable as Winblows. With Winblows, you pay expensive hardware for inferior OS, every bit of your investment are used to battle virus, spam and malware protection, you end up spend more time dealing with problems than actual works. Hey, that's why i changed winblows every 2-3 years. My last Mac pro lasts about 7 years!

Sure there are learning curve switching system but OSX is as simple and easy as it gets. With Mac, it's all about simplicity and the OS expect the users are tech savvy - that's what i like about MAC. they don't keep seeking user permission on every freaking changes - I found that dumb and a waste of time going though number of steps to do a simple task in Windows. Furthermore, features and functions are hardly changed over the years, new OS are free upgrade and old machines are capable to run new OS without significant discount in resource like Windows. Less time in dealing with updates, virus scan, formatting, devices driver and compatibility... well, you name it.

AS a coder that works 12-14 hours on computers, and photographers that process images and 4K videos on a Mac. I don't know i can take it if i wake up tomorrow and Mac disappear in thin air with nothing but Dumbass Windows left to work with. I might have to kill myself! One minute with windows is another minute wasted.

Any softwares you think you probably need in Windows, you can get a Mac version just fine and guess what. Mac 3rd party of free applications, doesn't packs massive bloatwares like those with windows versions.

People never used a Mac think it's stupid to pay more for the same PC hardwares and Mac users are sheep with more money to spend.... who cares?? i save more money with Mac, get more works done with Mac and make more money with Mac.

Now, ask youself these, do you really need a portable? what about iMac or Mac Pro? the next iMac refresh is expecting in months with Kaby Lake Processors and i expect it would be a major upgrade since Tim Cook hints the next Mac would be a significant upgrade.

There is only an average of 2% of increase in performance from Sky to Kaby.... don't think it's worthwhile to wait for that sole reason at all.
