Hi guys I'm going to learn to play guitar but first I need to get a guitar.
Any suggestions for me?
Budget is around 300-500.

Also I have heard about the Yamaha F310. May I know oe what is the average price for yamaha F310 I can get from the dealer now? And also the package for it?

Any pros can help? 😁

Don't listen to him, those guitars you need to multiply your budget by ten. Yamaha F310 is what I would recommend to all beginners. New one should be about RM450 to RM500. Get a new one for your first guitar, or ask a pro friend to inspect for you if you wanna buy a used unit.

a solid sitka spruce top with solid east indian rosewood back and sides is good. maybe u can go for the taylor 714, 814 or 914.

No problem to start learning gtr with electric one. Smaller neck, easy on the strings, 22-24 fret access so you could learn scales faster, above all dirt cheap coz many brandless gtr available today. I can play electric gtr for hours but bila pegang acoustic/classic gtr 5 minit dah blur x tau nak buat apa lol maybe coz i like distortion sounds.

Anyway acoustic gtr with all slick neck, good playability gonna cost a bomb smile.gif just laying out some option if you didnt mind with brand names and stuff.

Depends what they like to learn in guitar. Some people only like electric guitar, not interested in acoustic. Some people like me never liked electric. Some people like both.

Dont need to spend too much money. Expensive guitar won't make you learn better. Will make you poorer for sure.

Not sure whether trolling or not haha, but unless you have at least 10k to spend on buying your first guitar then go ahead wink.gif

Well, nobody can stop u if u want to buy a guitar but not play it. If u really want to buy just for display purposes only, then u dont hv to buy really expensive ones. Even second hand ones will do.

And yes, it's possible for the guitar top to "swell" due to the string tension. But even if u play the guitar often with such tension, the guitar body will distort eventually

Pretty sure if you go to any guitar shop and ask for beginner acoustic, they will recommend few models/brands, and u can try em all.
This way better, can choose which suit u.
Dont just go one shop, go as many as u can.

I can sell u my F310 if u r interested. Bought it a year ago but hardly played as I'm struggling to learn chords and I feel the guitar might be too big for me. Am thinking to get a 3/4 size guitar instead. PM me.

Martin - low end ones dont use solid wood and even the fretboard is synthetic. Just paying good money to get made in mexico crap. Might as well buy made in china yamaha.

Taylor - probably better but many people have humidity issues with their taylor here with the wood warping and bridge loosened.

Lots of cheaper alternatives.
