morning my brother updated the firmware when xbox live asked him before he is going to play GOW, then later, he found out the resolution was lower down as the normal reso is 1280x1024. I mean the in game is like very blur, plus he is using the dell 17inch lcd. Later then i when to console setting and the reso was 1280x1024. While the dashboard seem quite sharp, only when go ingame everything went bad. Then i go take off my hdd then seem no prob with the resolution. Ya, there is another thing, b4 is like widescreen one, means got black bars on the top and bottom. Then now is full-screen. My monitor is normal one.

Since you mentioned that he only encountered this problem after an update, maybe it has something to do with this. http://forums.epicgames.com/showpost.php?p...254&postcount=1

I'm experiencing the same with my Dell 1905FP, after the update.
Resolution and sharpness reduced significantly since its full screen mode compare to letter box widescreen mode.

QUOTE(spidercat @ Feb 21 2007, 12:45 PM) can i set the resolution of the xox 360 if using it on TV and not LCD ?? the resolution setting is only for LCD or monitor ? IINM, u can't select resos if using TV. you could only select either 480p, 720p, 1080i, or 1080p (if using fully hd tv).

Yeap, no problem here. On a LCD as well.
Just make sure you set everything accordingly in the Dashboard like what michael9413 mentioned.
Good luck!

AFAIK, it's not possible for you to change the Hz. 50's for PAL, 60's for NTSC.

So GOW's the only game affected by this? How come they're not following what's selected on the dashboard?
Hmm... maybe I'm not getting the whole picture here...
