Long Answer:
Sony do not generally issue new gift cards design just for their new game launch. But they tend to come up with new PS4 console bundle with "skin" ?? I think .

but I see some game shops selling those cards with jacked up price. and 7-11 has promotion. for 12+3 months card with MHW design.

it is normal for all re-seller in malaysia to sell at jacked up price.
We are first in the country to sell at face value = what you see is what you pay.

in term of the design of the gift card, i am not aware.
All i know the one we have in 7-11 is just generic , the 12+3 free is just redemption controller on Sony side.

I believe if you have credit card and buy online , you may also get the 12+3 . But please don't take my words for it.

I've tried to buy the prepaid cards from 7-11 on 3 occasions at different locations with a few weeks apart each time and every time they always tell me that the system is down. Any idea if that'll get fixed?

That is the challenges we always face with 7-11 staff.
Each time got problem , they will just say system line down.

sorry for the bad experience ,but you just have to find another 7-11 that is not "down".

Many gamers are still in school / kids which don't have access to parent's credit card or their own.
Cash is their only option .

Also if you play PSN long enough , you would know PSN network not exactly the most secure.
Many people don't want to put their credit details on there.
