I heard say GPS on Mediatek SOC memang got weird problems one. Or is my phone a lemon unit?. sweat.gif

More info :

-Waze
-Pokemon GO
-Ingress
-Google Maps

GPS Mode : High Accuracy

OS : Android 6.0 (Sony Build 36.0.B.2.109)

Yup, common issue on phones with Mediatek chipset.

Try complaining to Sony.

Nope. Either a thin transparent rubber case or a plastic flip case with leather front cover only but the front cover got some sort of magnet for the smart function like iPad case.

I recently bought a Meizu MX4 with the Mediatek MT6595 SoC (equivalent to a Snapdragon 808).

Surprisingly, my GPS works much better than my LG G3 (Snapdragon 801).

It always gets a first fix in less than 5 seconds , even indoors.

It maintains a solid GPS signal lock all through my journey with Waze and Google Maps.

I don't understand why people say that Mediatek GPS sucks. Mine don't. smile.gif

Yeah. I think devs play a big role in optimizing the OS on their phones also. All that promising hardware spec but shitty OS also no use.. like Asus.

Still have to carry around my trusty iPhone 5 for GPS navi. Haha.. sweat.gif
