Rm25 for 3 days Roaming. 2Gb data + 30mins calls. Quite a good deal I must say. Even better than UMobile Rm10/day roaming.

I am on UMobile plan U28, area at Bandar Utama.
My line is showing 4G, but I realise thst even with WhatsApp calling, the line is always cutting and Internet browsing seems very slow. I just ported a few days ago, is this how it is with UMobile? I do t recall 4G being this slow.
*
You just ported from Maxis? If you really care about data consistency, you are really going to regret this.

U Mobile's Power Prepaid call rates has been increased from 6 sen to 7 sen per 30 seconds.
*
Not good. Others are coming in closely already. So if UMobile doesn't rethink its strategy, then they will lose out ultimately.

QUOTE(CnY Garage @ Jan 3 2017, 06:50 PM)
they are like focus on postpaid more than prepaid now, since prepaid calling is the least demanded ( normally data / sms like umi 30, credit transfer, long term validity ...) increase of the rate should be still ok since digi/ maxis /celcom still far more expensive than umobile 1
prepaid convert to postpaid also got

postpaid ported out to other telco and port back within 6months also 0 commission,
they are planning to make profit to get listed after few years trial d,
cutting benefit from dealers bottom of the pyramid and support premier dealers for Phone bundle plan, subsidy to start more premier shop like Digi specialized store or maxis exclusive partner rather than normal phone shop / mini market....
*
Of course. Postpaid is where all the money is coming from. For postpaid customers, you use or dont use, you have already commited to the monthly commitment which you have signed up for.

Did they even announce this? This is cheating already  mad.gif

I also didnt notice that. Time to look at other options already if UMobile is not cheap. Not that their network is something to shout about anyway. shakehead.gif

Can't complain since others are still expensive
*
Having said that, I really hope they improve their coverage. Their network coverage is really poor especially indoors.

But one thing UMobile really improved on is their customer service response time. Now you can get hold of a customer service without the need to wait for so long like last time.

Oh yes. No coverage no point to subscribe U Mobile. rclxm9.gif
Even your home have atleast 3G UM coverage but still cannot use outdoor.

For Maxis they have advantage with their wireless and fibre market. And many people will still subscribe them because network stability. And Maxis also have their own build fibre network. Which is if your house no Unifi. Maxis will have it. Maxis own fibre cable already expand in Kedah, Perak, Terengganu and Pulau Pinang as well.

This make Maxis can earn more profits. With their 90% wireless coverage & 10% fibre infrastructure. Maybe we look small with their fibre. But i believe that Maxis will expand more fibre coverage where TM Unifi not available there. So yeah. Maxis is like for all technology. From 4G to FTTH coverage.

Meanwhile TM still relax with their so taknak turun harga streamyx. Harga speed copper 1Mbps pun harga dah cecah RM110.

All because of the monopoly game being practised by our government for so many years until now. That is why consumers like us are burdened by these blood suckers. shakehead.gif

just MNP to umobile, my data unstable, keep changing between 3G, H+, 4G
when 4G everything smooth(6mbps), but when it changed to H+, the speed only 0.2mbps

area nearby Pavilion, any solution ?
*
Some phones allow lock on selecting 4G/LTE. So you should check your phone if it does. If not then, there is not other way.

Unbelievably, umobile speed dropped from

(Sep 2016, LTE)
[attachmentid=8487139]

to

(Now, LTE)
[attachmentid=8487142]
Still very smooth though. So no worries for now.

It depends if you surf or watch HD videos and also the time that you use. For me, normal surfing is still bearable.

QUOTE(Mr Gray @ Feb 15 2017, 06:37 PM)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know, every single android phone has the capability to lock network to any kind that we want. Ie LTE only, LTE/HSDPA, or EDGE only. Just press *#*#4636#*#* on your telephone keypad.
*
Not every phone supports this. Then again, this feature is also network dependant.

today we will see the new offering and upgrade from umobile as umobile event is happening now at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa

Thursday, February 16, 2017 - 10:00am to 12:30pm
U Mobile invite to a Power-Packed Picnic - launch of latest offering at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa from 10am - 12.30pm
*
Nice... but I hope they would concentrate on upgrading their infrastructures and network coverage first. Really fed up with their poor coverage indoors.

Its actually another way of making prepaid customers buy data packs. You cant be using data solely on FB and instagram alone. When you use basic data, you cant even load pictures from whatsapp. Not to mention surfing the internet. Definately a no go for me.

I heard some of my friends saying U-Mobile coverage is bad, even in KL area. Is that true?
*
Yes. Especially indoors. Sometimes you even get Edge which is hopeless. If you place importance on data, don't.

Hi guys, just want to check if there is any signal for u mobile prepaid line when we travel to other country like Singapore?

UMobile's Rm10 roaming /day at selected countries is the only main reason I'm on U Mobile.

*
Mine is the latest before this, so should be Power Prepaid right? So can qualify for 2x validity?

from u's website:

Who is eligible to subscribe to the new Unlimited Power Plan?
All new U Mobile prepaid subscribers, effective from 17th February 2017 onwards, will automatically be activated on this new plan. For subscribers who are on the existing plan (Power Prepaid, New U Prepaid or U Prepaid plan) and wish to upgrade to the new Unlimited Power Plan, you can do so via UMB or SMS.
*
No thanks. I will stick with the monthly 1GB fast internet. For the new plan, you would need to buy a data pack as the basic data is too slow to even load whatsapp images.

Does Umobile actually reply to your inquiry online from their "contact us" or facebook or it's just a lost cause and I should head straight to their center?
*
Calling their hotline should be easier.

Guys, want to confirm if my credit expired today but my umi plan expired another half month, can i still use data or free call?
*
Nope. You need to make sure your line stays active to use data or free call.

QUOTE(property direction @ Feb 21 2017, 01:02 PM)
what factor determine one area can get high speed, but another area only get average speed?
*
Depends on network coverage and congestion of users in that area.
